Any Intermediate Technicians out there?

I am looking into maybe taking the intermediate which is a precursor for the paramedic tech. My question is..if I do the intermediate could I then apply into a nursing program with the intermediate tech. license or would I need to go on to the paramedic portion? Anyone know of any schools to accept the emt intermediate?

Thanks.

For Excelsior College and most other colleges like EC you have to be a minimum of a Paramedic. Many do not even accept paramedic level, only LPN. You do not have to be an EMT to get into the traditional campus based programs. A new trend is the Paramedic to RN bridge program. It is becoming more popular at tradiational campus programs and we are starting to see more paramedic students in our program looking to go that route. They take paramedic with the intention of doing the bridge program at a latter date. The technical college where I work is considering starting one.

for ec you have to be a paramedic.....good luck with your studies

Nope--EC only accepts the paramedic level for admission. Good luck with your studies, though! Paramedics make some fab nurses.
