VANESSA WILLIAMS 138 Posts Specializes in Nurse Tech.Nursing Student. Aug 11, 2008 So the answer is to much ADH since your retaining fluid
VANESSA WILLIAMS 138 Posts Specializes in Nurse Tech.Nursing Student. Aug 11, 2008 LunahRNDo I understand this correct since your retaining fluid does that mean you have too much ADH?

Aug 11, 2008 LunahRNDo I understand this correct since your retaining fluid does that mean you have too much ADH?Flip it around, and you'll be right -- if you have too much ADH you will retain fluid. But retaining fluid does not necessarily mean you have too much ADH. Do you see what I mean? There are other reasons a person could retain fluids -- it's not always ADH.

Walking N2 MyDestiny 143 Posts Aug 11, 2008 That is correct!:typingAlso you can have too much ADH-which will result in SIADH (you will retain water) and you can have not enough ADH which will result in DI-which you will lose water.

Aug 11, 2008 LunahRN,Yes, I know there's other reason people retain to much fluid..I understand that much but when you say flip it around what do you mean? Did I answer the question right as well meaning to much fluid if you have Excessive ADH. Thanks so much.
