I have worked 6 monthes in NH, and 3 months in Ma (as a CNA) in nursing homes...The NH place was over an hour away and that why I went to Ma, then I got a great job offer on an office job I couldn't refuse (almost double the money)...I also wanted to get out of the whole nursing home thing...Well, I just got laid off from that office job yesterdsay...I want to get back into nursing but would like to work at a hospital...I'm only tried Elliot/Manchester and Parkland/Derry so far and no one seems to be hiring LNAs, only RNs... Any help?
Furthermore I'm looking into becoming an xray tech but have no money as of right now...I need to find a paid training place, lol...

How far do you want to travel? I know my employer, Cheshire Medical Center, is always looking for LNAs. Always! They have to use a lot of agency LNA's because of their shortage. They're located in Keene, which may be quite a hike depending on where you're located.

Elliot's website has several openings listed for LNAs- one is a 40 hour day position!- as well as a NICU tech (LNA) on their website right now. HR updates the job openings on Fridays. Are you in southern NH or MA? What about Southern NH Medical Center in Nashua? They have numerous LNA and "clinical nurse assistant" position (job description lists LNA as requirement)
I don't know of any hospital in southern NH that isn't actively interested in hiring LNAs, there's definitely a need!

You're right, Sarah! I completely forgot about SNHMC, and I JUST finished a clinical rotation there in Med/Surg! They're always looking for LNA's, or Patient Tech's, as they call them. I know they're desperate also, because a friend of mine, who works there as an LNA, is graduating from nursing school next month, but said she keeps getting floated off of 3rd floor, where she normally works, to other floors to fill shortages.
To the OP, I also suggest that you mail in your resume via snail mail, instead of doing the online one. I couldn't get ONE interview with all the resumes I submitted online, so then I mailed out a bunch, and got 4 interviews right off the bat. I think a lot is lost during the online process, or it did anyway. That was only last fall, so I doubt things have improved too much!
Thanks, I just applied to several of them! It's very weird, I called them and they said they were not hiring...I live in Derry NH...

SNHMC and St. Joseph in Nashua are currently hiring LNA's. The only issue I have seen and heard is that it takes on average a month for them to get back to you to schedule an interview. They both send postcards thanking you for your application but they do not mean they won't be or will be contacting you. Good Luck in your job search!!!!!!!! Also check Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. They just added alot of departments and are looking for help too.

What's the average salary for an LNA in southern new hampshire right now? BTW, I would LOVE to be a NICU tech! I am going to nursing school next fall and need a job while I am in school. NICU is where I want to be. :)
Unfortunately in southern NH there are not any aides in the NICU, as far as I know. Only RN's. But I think the avereage salary is somewhere around $10.00 an hr for an LNA. Agency pays more but you will be going to a lot of LTC facilities.

Hi I am new at this so I hope I am doing this all correct. I have worked as an LNA now for 2 years in the home care setting. I go to school for something other then nursing but I have found it is not really what I want to do. Does anyone know how you would find out about LNA agency jobs? I know they are hard to come to by. But I hear they are really good and offer really good benefits. I have nothing holding me back I am willing to travel and go anywhere I am needed. I was just wondering if anyone knew how you would even go about finding one of those jobs?
