Anyone knows any Hospital in New York State recruiting International Nurses?
I have my NCLEX-RN and Visa Screen Certificate. Now I just need the job to get a green card petition. I've done all the process by myself that's why I don't want to go trough an recruitment agency at the end of it.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you

Where in NY are you looking? NY in general is over saturated with nurses so many hospitals are not sponsoring
I am flexible with the location. Will prefer something within my area of care, which is cardiothoracic ICU, as for the location I'm happy to stay for a few years on a peripheral town as long I have a petition for a green card.

What is your country of birth as if they have the potential to sponsor they aren't likely to hold a job if the nurse's home country has a 6-12 year wait for visas due to retrogression
do you have a valid nursing license?
Yes I have a license and my country is Portugal which is one year wait, as far as I know.

I don't see any areas in USA being short staffed and needing to bring in RN's. One of the requirements is the employer can't find workers. I just don't see any hospital going thru the expense and time of trying to import a forgein trained nurse and pay for visa/sponsorship travel etc. All they need to do is put an ad on their company website under Jobs or Human Resource and find all the qualified employees they want.
That is from a person whom is not in the nursing field, but has a basic understanding of immigration process in USA.
Thank you so much for your input on this question but as far as I know there are plenty of agencies recruiting international nurses to the US. Being so there must be space for them in the US hospitals. The fact is I have an agency but I've done all the process by myself so far that I did not want to use the agency. But seems to me that this will be the only possible way
That's quite simply not true. There is no shortage in any major metropolitan area of the US. There is a surplus of nurses in major areas. There are agencies recruiting for jobs that don't exist and charging for their "services". Even a year is too long for an employer to hold open a job.
Well I will enroll with an agency as I see is the only way and because I know people who made it trough an agency recently. If I make my way trough there I would then let you know. At the moment I'll have an interview with an hospital in California next week.

Do you have a California nursing license?
There are also plenty of places selling lottery tickets in my area, I never hear of anyone winning.
I would suggest making an appointment with an immigration attorney in your area and ask a few questions, that way your best interest would be at stake and you can get a straight forward answer.
Awesome, Probably one of the most over saturated states in the USA, with nurses looking for work.
