I am starting my pre-requisites in January. I am going to attend a mandatory meeting on December 7th. I am sorry I can't give you any info since I am just starting myself and trying to get as much info as possible. How is everything going? How was the meeting? Are you going to take any pre-req. in January?
I am also starting my pre req's in January. I went to the mandatory meeting that was offered on November 2nd. I really want to persue the nursing program at Harper but it sounds like so many people are turned away each year due to limited space. That makes me a bit nervous.
Yes, I know, I am getting a little bit discouraged. I really want to get into the program, but I am not sure if I will be able to have all or almost all "A"s for my pre-requisite classes. Which classes are you taking the Spring semester? I am taking Biology 101-007, Psychology 101-021, Chemistry 100-010 and Sociology 101-013.
I am taking BIO 101-007, CHM 100-010, PSY 101-021, and ENG100-018 (I know eng 100, I am horrible at english). It looks like we are going to have 3 out of 4 classes together!!!! That's so exciting!!! Maybe if you want we could form a study group.... I really cant believe we chose the same classes. I really thought that when I picked my classes that I for sure wouldn't get to know any other student to well, due to the fact that some are in the morning, others in the night, and one on the weekend. This is so exciting, I am starting to feel better about starting my pre-req's. You made my day!!! :)
Yea, how exciting!!!:yelclap: I am sure knowing someone in a class would really help and we can in fact form a study group! You can send me an e-mail at [email protected]
That is something that we definitly will need to do. I will email when it gets closer to the January. I am seriously so happy to have met you on here, and then to find out we are going to share the same classes. Can't wait til January. Thanks a bunch Olanurse2be!!!!!
FoxyRoxy,
I've decided to switch from CHM100 to CHM110. I figured that there is no point of taking CHM 100, since, let's say you would want to transfer to a University or other college (you never know) and for that you need to have CHM125. But you can't take it because you have to finish CHM110 first. See, that way you are loosing one semester. Think about it. I am taking CHM110-005.
I thought the same thing.
But after I had a meeting with an academic advisor they strongly urged(sp) me to take CHM100. CHM100 is Chemistry for the Health Sciences I was told that it would be bennificial for me since I want to persue nursing.
I looked it over some more and I think that by taking CHM110 I would be better off. Thanks for throwing that idea my way. I am going to sign up for CHM 110-005, it's great how it's during the same time as CHM 100.
My email is [email protected].

I am waiting to hear if I get into the Fall'06 class. I will post again as soon as I know something. Best of luck to those of you who are taking pre-reqs.

Amanda
Just wanted to let you "to be Harper nursing students" know that I have been have chosen as an "alternate candidate" for the for fall '06 class. I called Harper yesterday to find out where I was on the list and they told me that out of 212 on the wait list, I was in the top 50. However, they would not disclose exactly what number- I really do not get what the big secret is??? They did mention that all 120 accepts accepted their seat, but in the past at least 25-30 students ended up changing their minds before the start of the program.
Anyway, good luck and best wishes to you all!
