    Anyone from Chicago, IL?

Thanks KES!!!!:1luvu: You are the greatest! I am thinking of taking some of my pre-requisites at Harper-it is much closer to where I live and I am in district, then transfer to Elmhurst, so that I can get into the nursing program right after I am done with my pre-req. From my understanding it is beneficial to be at Elmhurst for one term before entering into the nursing program. What does one term means? Is it a semester, a year or what? Thanks a lot!

    Paralegals considering nursing degree

Hi BurnBaby06, How far are you in the nursing program? Why did you decide to go into nursing as oppose to paralegal studies? Honestly, I really like being a paralegal. I used to work for a big international bank as a paralegal, I felt appreciated. In May I've decided to pursue a full time Real Estate job. My husband is also a Real Estate Broker, he is very successful in Real Estate. I thought that I can be like him. Unfortunately, I couldn't be successful, it's just not for me. I regret that I left my job as a Corporate Paralegal. I got really depressed that I couldn't succeed in real estate, I left my job that I liked and it led me to think about nursing. That is something I always wanted. While I was researching the nursing career, I placed my resume online and just yesterday was offered two paralegal jobs, one was for $46K per year, the second one - Commercial Real Estate Paralegal, for $55K. Of course I accepted the second one. Now, I am not sure if I need the nursing degree. I would really like to do it for myself and then, maybe I could become a Legal Nurse Consultant, but getting nursing degree takes a lot of energy and time. I am not sure if I really need it.

    Anyone from Chicago, IL?

Thanks for the info. Looks like they are kind of expensive though, right? Is it about $21K per year?
  5. Are there any paralegals out there considering nursing career? I am a Paralegal, starting pre-requisites towards nursing education. I always wanted to be a nurse and think that now is the right time for me. Also, I think that both professions will benefit each other. Does somone have an opinion about that? What is your reason for getting a nursing degree?

    Any Harper College Students?????????

FoxyRoxy, I've decided to switch from CHM100 to CHM110. I figured that there is no point of taking CHM 100, since, let's say you would want to transfer to a University or other college (you never know) and for that you need to have CHM125. But you can't take it because you have to finish CHM110 first. See, that way you are loosing one semester. Think about it. I am taking CHM110-005.

    Any Harper College Students?????????

Yes, I know, I am getting a little bit discouraged. I really want to get into the program, but I am not sure if I will be able to have all or almost all "A"s for my pre-requisite classes. Which classes are you taking the Spring semester? I am taking Biology 101-007, Psychology 101-021, Chemistry 100-010 and Sociology 101-013.

I am starting my pre-requisites in January. I am going to attend a mandatory meeting on December 7th. I am sorry I can't give you any info since I am just starting myself and trying to get as much info as possible. How is everything going? How was the meeting? Are you going to take any pre-req. in January?

I am glad you mentioned speech class. I was wondering if it was a time consuming class or not. Now I am thinking of switching speech for sociology. What do you think?
