  1. Thank you so much for your advise. It makes a lot of sense. I'll definately follow it.
  2. FoxyRoxy, I've decided to switch from CHM100 to CHM110. I figured that there is no point of taking CHM 100, since, let's say you would want to transfer to a University or other college (you never know) and for that you need to have CHM125. But you can't take it because you have to finish CHM110 first. See, that way you are loosing one semester. Think about it. I am taking CHM110-005.
  3. Yea, how exciting!!!:yelclap: I am sure knowing someone in a class would really help and we can in fact form a study group! You can send me an e-mail at [email protected]
  4. Yes, I know, I am getting a little bit discouraged. I really want to get into the program, but I am not sure if I will be able to have all or almost all "A"s for my pre-requisite classes. Which classes are you taking the Spring semester? I am taking Biology 101-007, Psychology 101-021, Chemistry 100-010 and Sociology 101-013.
  5. I am starting my pre-requisites in January. I am going to attend a mandatory meeting on December 7th. I am sorry I can't give you any info since I am just starting myself and trying to get as much info as possible. How is everything going? How was the meeting? Are you going to take any pre-req. in January?
  6. How are you going to handle it all?!
  7. I am glad you mentioned speech class. I was wondering if it was a time consuming class or not. Now I am thinking of switching speech for sociology. What do you think?
  8. What was the most number of classes you took in one semester? What was it? I am taking four classes this semester and kind of worried.:uhoh21: To tell you the truth, I was thinking of adding one more. I am taking: Psychology Chemistry Speech Biology Sociology (undecided)
  9. For those who took Sociology, is it a hard class? I can't decide on whether I should take it this coming semester along with psychology, speech, biology and chemistry. Would it be too much?
  10. :balloons: Congratulations!!!
  11. Good Luck!!!! :balloons:
  12. I signed up for a Biology Survey course just to refresh my memory. Last time I took Biology was 12 years ago and of course I don't remember anything:imbar This course is not a requirement. Did anyone else do something like that? Do you think it's just a waste of time?:uhoh21:
  13. Is there anybody from Chicago going for BSN? I would love to hear opinions about different schools and their requirements. I am going to take all of needed pre-requisites at a community college and then transfer to University, can't decide which one yet.
  14. I signed up for a class called "Chemistry for Health Sciences". Do you need to have some kind of chemistry knoweldge in order to be successful in that class?
  15. No, I don't worry about math, reading and writing. The college I wanted to apply to requires Pre-Admission Test which has vocabulary, math, chemistry, biology, physics and earth science questions and IT IS based on the score. THAT is the test I worry about. The competency test for math, reading and writing doesn't concern me.
  16. Is it true that not all nursing schools require RN Pre-Admission Test, only general admission requirements, such as minimum grade point average, high school or college biology, chemistry and math, reading and writing assessment tests and sometimes CPR or CNA certification?
  17. :flowersfo Thank you very much for all your advise!!!!!!!! I feel so much more confident. I CAN do it!:chuckle
  18. BabyRN2Be, My prerequisites are done. All I have to do is to take Pre-Admission test. With conditional admission do you have to take it or you can be admitted to the program without taking the test and just take additional classes? Thank you:)
  19. Hi Peachy, Do you need to pass the Pre-Admission test at some point of time, or you can just enter into the program and have good grades(depending on a school)
  20. Wait, wait...... please tell me more about it!!!! How does it work?
  21. Have you heard about Conditional Admission to a Nursing Program? I just found a college that offers Conditional Admission to the program if admission requirements are not met, such as EGL 101 placement and/or minimum performance level on the RN Pre-Admissions Test and/or the reading or writing tests. Students who admitted as conditional students will have additional requirements to complete during the summers, extending the lenght of the program to two complete calendar years rather than two academic years. I just can't believe my eyes!!! If all of this is true, then I don't have to worry about the RN Pre-Admissions Test!!! Please tell me if such thing exists-I truly can't believe my eyes.
  22. I was wondering if anyone started thinking about getting into the nursing program not knowing chemistry very well. I really want to become a nurse, but I am weak at chemistry. I bought myself chemistry books and all I am doing is reading those books, hoping to learn it well enough to be able to pass the pre-entrance exam. Please tell me what you think. Is it too crazy?:uhoh21:
