Good Luck!!! I graduated from Gordon in 1999 and it was a hard program but well worth it!! So good luck and don't let them(professors) scare you off. If nursing is what your meant to do, you'll figure it out. I always found studying with people helpful, but everyone is different. I made some really great friends in nursing school there and hope you do the same. It really helps. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Hey thanks so much for the insight;) I know you graduated in 99 but do you remeber what days clincals were on? As it stands now I don't have any classes on Fri and was wondering would that change for clinicals, any info would help and Congrats:balloons: to you for finishing, and thanks again

If I remember correctly, clinicals were either on Thursdays or Fridays. I know classes were on at least Mondays and Wednesdays, maybe on Tuesdays. But that was in 1999. Things may have changed. I hope this helps. I do remember working on Friday nights and having been awake for many hours because of going to clinicals during the day. But remember your clinical days may change with each semester. I don't know if you have a full time or part time job, but if you do, make sure that they have an understanding about nursing school and that there maybe times when your schedule must change.

As a matter of fact now that you ask, did you do your pre-reqs at gordon or did you transfer them fron another school. And also(hope i am not bugging you already):trout: what kind of a feel did you get while you were applying? Was the staff helplful or did they not want to be bothered? And have you bought the books yet, i saw on the website and it looks like you are buying a small library, have you been reading i was wondering if anything in those books were interesting And lastly what do u think form talkin to people is a good gpa to get admitted the first time and was the teas hard??

Thanks a million!!!

Heck no you're not bugging me I've been waiting on someone to share with! Yes I did all my prereqs at Gordon I finishined in just under one yr, when I was applying the staff (one in particular) was sort of unfriendly, but I figured maybe she does not like her job:uhoh3:but eveyone else seemed to be a great help, and no I have not bought my books yet the list keeps growing:angryfire, but I'm just blessed to be in the program so I won't complain;)We have oreintation on Aug 8th and 9th and we can use our aid on the 8th in the book store so that's when I plan on buying my small library:lol2:Hope that answers everything and if you have any ques pls feel free to ask. GOOD LUCK!!

Thanks so much for the info I was hoping to have Fridays off but oh well, I didn't know the clincal days change, I work on Fri and Sat nights only so I hope in won't conflict or else no job for me, school is at the top of my list for now.

I also worked Friday and Saturday nights 11p-7a in a hospital in the unit in which I continue to work now. By working there during school, I gained alot of knowledge that helped me when it came to orienting me. Clinicals never conflicted with my work.

I can tell you how I Liked it! I graduated about this time last year from their program. It was hard, stressful, and sometimes (yes sometimes) fun! The teachers were (and the ones who are still there are) great. They are supportive and take the time to teach. It is a lot of information at one time so stay organized. Stay on top of your assingments and READ YOURE BOOK! Take notes. If you like to study with a group...find a good study group! (You'll need their support) Don't be afraid to ask questions. Don't get caught up in other people's negativity. Leave whatever is going on at home or at work there when your'e in class or studying. Goodness...the list goes on and on. Oh....take breaks between your'e studying. Craming is never...ever good!!

FYI: My study group consisted of 4 other women. We would bring food to our study group (usually fast food cause you have no time to cook). We'd quiz eachother, go over our notes, do practice questions out of our NCLEX books, talk about how stressed out we were and at the end of every semester we would have a small party at a nice restaurant somewhere to destress and celebrate.

P.S There's a great wings place in downtown Barnesville that cater's to students if you need to take a break and get off the campus for awhile. They have .25 wings on Tuesday and free ice tea to Gordon Students! Their Ice Tea is great.

Was the teas test hard and what was your gpa??? And have you seen the uniforms, what do they look like?
