Hi everyone! I'm new to this site and was wondering if there are any students or graduates of EC in PA. I'm interested in the program but I'm not sure if the nursing board recognizes Excelsior College as an approved program of study for an RN. Right now I'm in school for my LPN at Eastern Center for Arts and Technology. I will graduate in 10/2010. If anyone could give me some insight it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

As far as I know, PA is EC-friendly. I think we've had one or two EC grads in the past year from PA here on the forum, but darned if I can remember who ... my brain is fried, I'm just home from work. LOL

I'm currently enrolled in excelsior and live in Pa. Pennsylvania accepts excelsior grads, no restrictions. They just started a new site for the CPNE this year in Chambersburg Pa. so not to far to travel.

I live in western PA, waiting to take the CPNE. If you have any questions, drop me an email.
Thank you all for your responses. You guys have been very helpful. Does anyone know if you can start any of your general ed requirements with EC before you get your lpn??
yes, I had taken most of the classes that excelsior accepted about 10 years before I got my Lpn. I wouldn't think that Clepping an exam would be any different.

I live in PA and Just passed my CPNE in December and got my graduation pack for Excelsior in Feb. and passes my PA-RN boards in march, I did all my pre req in a college base setting over several years before enrolled in the Excelsior program for my nursing courses. I would not really suggest going the Excelsior way unless it was that only option, you must be very dedicated, over all it took me 8 years start to finish, but I didn't remain consistant, It is possible to do though and I wish you the best let me know if I can be of any help to you.
