  1. I graduated from excelsior, you can go on there web site to check the fees or call you dont have to wait for the bill find out amount and pay and they well send you your info in a week.
  2. I live in PA and Just passed my CPNE in December and got my graduation pack for Excelsior in Feb. and passes my PA-RN boards in march, I did all my pre req in a college base setting over several years before enrolled in the Excelsior program for my nursing courses. I would not really suggest going the Excelsior way unless it was that only option, you must be very dedicated, over all it took me 8 years start to finish, but I didn't remain consistant, It is possible to do though and I wish you the best let me know if I can be of any help to you.
  3. really, with the so called nurseing shortage, nurses should have a national liscense to practice in any state all with the same CEU requirements and costs to renew every 2 years. after all the NCLEX is a nation wide test that we are take and pass therefor are equally entitled to practice. We are the USA only divided by the 52 states of goverment. I guess the state woud loss too much money on liscense renewal, but come on there has to be an easier way.
  4. there facilities are more like step down ICU, can be very complex. I have been aLPN for 8 years at Select in Johnstown, PA. The experience is great but a very hard place to work dispite the low pt ratio it is still high compared to regular ICU with 1or2 pt per nurse. you are also responsible for covering the LPN assessment and Iv meds. I have just graduated and am going to be changing my role to RN and I scared, even though I have been there for 8 years.
  5. I work at Select Specialty In Johnstown PA. it is a corporation and they are suppost to all have the same policys, nurse patient ratio is usually 1-5 but you may also have to cover LPN assessment and IV meds. at our hospital we have select uniforms with there logo that was instituted about 3 years ago the gave us all 3 uniforms and were told if we needed any in the future we were to buy our own form them. since then they have decided to just go with a certain color. and of course no open toes shoes or crocks, no visibe tattoos, no ear piecings, to me they spend to much time worring aboubt the dress code that they do about important issues. I would be interested If the Atlanta Select has any different policys. Hope this was helpful
  6. my girlfriend is a traveler and trying to come back to PA for the summer, she has been with Croos Country for a few years but they said they didnt have any work here now so she tried NightenGale. try NightenGale, Med One or MSN. they are all pretty good so I hear. You might be able to get something around pittsburgh there is always a need there. Good Luck.
  7. I used a web site NCLEX review 3500 free on internet it was extremily helpful and free. you can go in study mode and it provides immediate rationals and there is a test mode to see how you do. just type in free nclex test questions there are alot free.
