No, you do not get a degree until full completion of the master's. Though the educational content is equivalent to a BSN, a BSN degree is not given. Good luck to you.

Hi there! I was wondering if anyone knew how long the CSULA ELMN interviews lasted? I have mine on March 7th and am trying to make travel plans but it's hard when I don't know how long I should expect to be there!

Hi, ZooGurl3
I had a choice between 1:00 or 1:30, So I presume it to be no more than 30 minutes. But I suppose you should check with them.
Good luck to both of us
Thanks! When she called me I got to pick any time i wanted to so I picked the first one (9:30am). She said that her next one was scheduled for 10:15am so yea, I do believe they will be quite short!
Good luck to you!!!

Hello! Many thanks to the 2007 & 2008 cohort for your advice about the ELMN program. This thread has been so helpful!
I was wondering if any of you would be willing to share the kinds of questions asked during the interview. I'm assuming they are standard grad school interview questions, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask!
Also, are any of you taking on the FNP concentration for your MSN? I'm interested in going that direction, and I'd love to hear what made you choose FNP.

Hey! I just interviewed at CSULA and was wondering if anyone could help me out with some questions I had about the ELMSN program...I would really appreciate your help :)
1. Are you able to switch NP specialties if your interests change before the second year of the program? I applied for Pediatrics, which i think is what i want to specialize in now, but I realize my interests might change after clinicals and a year of nursing school.
2. When you work during the 2nd and 3rd year of the program, I just assumed that it was your responsibility to find paid part-time work on your own (assuming u pass NCLEX), but I just wanted to check. I've also heard that hospitals sometimes pay for students tuition. Whats the case for CSULA?
3. How are the onsite lab facilities at CSULA? Do they have bedside labs or dolls to practice on? When I interviewed I didnt get to see any of the facilities or labs.
Thanks again!

does anybody know when the start date of the program is? Thanks!
I'm pretty sure it's June 22nd, which is the start date for Summer Quarter. However, there is a mandatory orientation on May 2nd.
ok, thank you very much!
