Any CSUB Fall 2012 Hopefuls?
You got one here!
Yeah I think it's rough that they inform late also and I will just reapply if I don't get in. I'm hoping my 63 points are good enough but I guess we'll find out. I'm hoping that those who get into other schools will go with those schools so there are more spots left for those whose only option is CSUB :)
Well, I talked to ----- and I told her that I didn't do so awesome on the Teas but had a high GPA. She said I was competitive. Since our points don't seem too far apart I am sure things will work out for you. You should of applied to a lot of community colleges. I applied to 4 different schools just in case I don't get accepted to my number one choice.
I got the same score as you on the Teas. Even the extra point 7. I am also a continuing student. I am very mad about them not giving extra points in the primary points for being a continuing students. I don't understand why those points are only being used in an event of a tie. I told ----- about this and she told me next year they will be in the primary points. But I still don't understand why we have to wait until next year. Those additional five points would have made a huge difference.
Yes I agree. The only reason I figured they didn't was because they have been cutting classes due to budget cuts so it wasn't "fair" but idk. I spoke with ----- and she said she was going to try to create a list of tentative status for everyone after the 18th. So I will do my best to keep busy till an email surfaces...
Hi gurjit! Welcome to the CSUB thread! I previously posted about how my best friend spoke to the advisor and was told there will be no waiting or alternate list. I was confused because I'm sure there are people every year that decline their acceptance, but apparently the advisor said there won't be any type of list this year. Who knows.. Maybe she'll change her mind. I didn't score as high as I thought I would either on the Teas V. My second try.. I received an 84% .. Slightly above last year's average. My best friend scored an 83% .. So all of our scores are fairly close. My total points wouldn't be accurate if I gave it now because I still have 2 classes pending. I'll let you know at the end of the month. Gurjit, did the advisor tell you a certain range of points that is considered competitive?
April that's for 2013. They will start using continuing student in the primary points. I don't think that's fair at all. I think only a few of csub students get selected in the program. Most of the students are from other schools. Other schools around california have the option to apply everywhere else. ONly CSUB students are limited to a few community colleges that accept quarter students. Most colleges don't accept quarter students. Trust me I got rejection letters from community colleges based on merit not because my grades weren't awesome but instead because my units were short. That's why I think continuing student should be added to primary. Like I wouldn't be able to apply to fresno state because I am a quarter student.
I was told that everyone in the program Had high 80s and 90s on the Teas and not everyone last year got all the GPA points.
Also, I know a lot of people that applied and didn't manage to score a passing score on the Teas. Keep in mind a lot of people are taking physiology right now. Also, a lot of people tend to score in the 70s. And people that do score in the high 80s don't have all the gpa points. I think it's safe to assume if you have a range of over 60 you wil probably get accepted. I say this based on the rankings my friend showed me of last year. After 220 only 80 were left. I am assuming some dropped. out of those many had 70 score range. But keep in mind last year was the only year they accepted 100 students.
