Any CSUB Fall 2012 Hopefuls?
You got one here!
actually it seems like there was a slight discrepancy. The advisor for the traditional BSN program put up a YouTube video for any questions and requirements for the program. She said in the video that there were 316 applicants for Fall 2012, and the average for the Fall 2011 was about a 3.59. There would be no way to average the GPAs this early because of students with prerequisites still in progress. Hang in there :) its still awhile to go and they accept more than most schools (CSUCI accept 33 only and CSUFullerton accept 40)
Yeah I agree with April on the GPA this early in the year. I did speak with an advisor for CSUB and she said she would try to get an estimated ranking at the end of May when she had time... she was really sympathetic towards all of us having to be patient and wait so that was really sweet. I also heard this version of the TEAS was more difficult than the past TEAS...anyone know anything about that?

There's been a lot of talk about the TEAS V being more difficult than the TEAS IV if that's what you mean. I've only err taken the V so I guess I can't really say.
I really hope they do put some sort of ranking out this month. I would love to know where I stand.
I got rejected from the community college today so I'm a little bummed but really pulling for CSUB now and now really anxious to hear anything from them. It'll be my last chance for nursing school this Fall.

Can you post a link for the video?
I can't seem to get the link but on YouTube the user is brockonmac15 and the title is csub nursing: admissions and other requirements.Justbreathe I know exactly how you feel. This is the only school I was able to apply to because of a couple classes in progress. If I don't get in this Fall, I'll have to try community colleges for spring entry. It is stressful, but I'm trying to stay busy so time flies by faster. I really hope the advisor puts up unofficial ranking..although I wouldn't benefit much from it.. It would be nice to see the amount of points and where the cut off is as of right now
Hey you guys. I also applied to CSUB for the nursing program. I still have stats in progress so I am not too sure what my total points are. If I get an A I should have 64 points. I have volunteer experience, work for a doctor as of now, and live in the bakersfield area. They said no interviews. I think the only points I don't have have are those for the veteran status. I wish I did well on my Teas, but I didn't. I got accepted to two community colleges, but my heart is set for the CSUB nursing program. I live really close to the university so I much rather go to CSUB. If I don't get accepted I might go to COS vasilia or Bakersfield college. I got accepted to both. I really hope the tentative standings come out. I think with the points I have I should be somewhere in the top 40-50. I don't care what I rank so long as I get accepted. I noticed in previous posts someone mentions no waiting list. That isn't entirely true. They have in the past given seats to students if other rejected their seat after getting their acceptance letter. There was this one time I heard that a student failed to notifiy the department of nursing and the seat had to go to waste. However, the CSUB nursing department does not keep waiting lists from year to year. Meaning if you applied and didn't get picked in the top 60 and no one rejected their seat then you'd have to apply again. I had a friend who was ranked number 3 on the wait list waiting for someone to drop and she got accepted. THis was back when they accepted students twice a year and only the top 36 for the old two year program they had going on. Don't give up you guys. Always hope for the best!
I really hope by the end of the month we find out. That would be great. I need to make arrangements with my other college if CSUB doesn't work out. So knowing where I rank will give me an Idea if I should go to the community college I got accepted to or stay here. I hate that csub informs students late. I found out about the community colleges 2 months ago.
