Hey all! Just wanted to see if there were any current bulldogs in here. If so, will or have you applied for the Spring 2010? Since admissions will only be open to those of us that are current students just wanted to get to know some of my possible classmates!

Isn't that the way all the CSU nursing programs for spring 2010 are going to be? Just open to that particular state school's students? Besides Humboldt, of course..

Hi...that's great to hear ur just getting started. Its a lot of hard work but totally worth it. I just found out I got accepted. The pre reqs are what they go off of so get A's. If u get all A in ur pre reqs ur pretty much gonna get it. They usually accept up to about a 3.7. I think they accept between 55 and 60 students. And yes u have to finish the pre reqs and get accepted into the program before u start thr actual nursing classes. Hope that helps if u have anymore questions just ask.
Yea most of the CSU are closed for admissions for spring 2010. There may be a few that will still be accepting nursing applicants but you'll have to check that out. Go to csumentor and it'll tell you whether or not each school is accepting people.
thank you! do you know if you have to declare pre nursing as your major to take pre req courses? or can you just apply as undecided and sign up for classes?
You can take prerequisite courses wherever. I recommend doing it at a community college just because it will be WAY cheaper!
No you don't have to be declared as a pre nursing major to take pre reqs. It is also cheaper to take pre reqs at a community college then transfer to a CSU. That is what I did.

How many students do you think will apply at your university for Spring 2010 since nobody outside your University can apply? Just curious. I'm in the same situation but in Sac State and I have my fingers crossed. Hard.
I really have no idea...I guess whoever is already going to be done with pre reqs...I know that doesn't help out. But I don't know. Good luck!!!

Hi everyone,
So as I assume, for the program at CSU Fresno, they lean on more about the overal GPA right? I'm really thankful for that because Teas score is really a pain in the butt!lolz Do you guys know how they r gonna do the application process. The points giving out for each specific criteria requirement?! I couldn't find it on the main website of nursing department. They didn't give out the supplemental application yet!Do u think the 3yrs program at Fresno is reasonable? There are some schools have the only 2yrs and a half program! They also said for the 3yrs, the first semester is pretty much so boring because you don't have many classes to take n no clinical lab!? Is that true? I also apply for California State University, Chico, which is only 2yrs n a half. Do u think it would be a better option?
BTW, how is the surrounding area at Fresno. I really like my recent place rightnow (Bay Areas), and wonder how the scenery would be dramatically changed if I go to Fresno. Are they many cool places and activities that you can do? HIc, it's not a isolated place that you just come and study, is it?! >.
Thank you,
