Any CCAC Fall 2020 RN students?

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello, just wanted to know who all may be going into this Fall’s nursing program?

I’m beyond excited to get going; I’ve thought about doing this for an insanely long amount of time, and it’s finally all coming to fruition!

@ho77777 nice to meet you too! Why are you nervous about it? It’s definitely gonna be a lot of work, I just hope we get enough time to complete everything.

@Hex1013 I’m super excited to get some more info!

I keep checking the site to see if the Fall 2020 Nursing Student manual has been posted, yet, but no such luck
(Just the Spring 2020)

One silly little detail that I’m so excited to learn about is that in the Zoom meeting, she mentioned that the uniforms are changing for us!

I’m so excited (and a little scared) to see what they’re changing to!!

Anyone have any hopefuls on the scrub colors?

I didn’t even know there was a Zoom meeting. New uniforms are exciting! I hope they’re not white, LOL.

Did they mention anything else on the Zoom meeting? I feel like now we sit and wait some more..

So, the Zoom meeting was done in groups (I think there were 3 total) and it was for the folks that applied during the original application period (not extended).

I also hope the new uniforms are not white... ugh....

I'm too self conscious to be walking around looking like the Michelin Man! ?

It was mostly just trying to put us at ease over the covid stuff, It was all very non-specific. We glossed over topics, but nothing was looked at in depth.

the main takeaway, for me, was that sometime around early May, they will start getting info out to us.
She wasn't sure if it was going to be emailed/USPS, or what.
That would contain information for "the next steps" (signing up for Castle Branch, scheduling drug testing, etc).
She said not to DO any of that stuff yet (until we receive the welcome info), but there were some things that we could be proactive about, such as obtaining your BLS for healthcare providers certification.

Don't quote me, as this was nearly a month ago now.

I'm constantly worried about program communication since COVID has turned everything on its head, and I'm always worried that I didn't receive something that I should have.
But another friend of mine, who was also accepted into the program at my campus, also has not received anything yet, so until that happens, I'm going to try to keep my panic to a minimum. ?

Oh WOW! you guys already had your zoom meeting? Ours isn’t until May 27 but then I again I applied after the initial application deadline which was March 1 I believe ?

Oh WOW!! That's kinda cool! Can you keep us posted on anything new/pertinent?
CONGRATS on your admission! ?

Yeah, I was at the original zoom meeting on April 25th and It was pretty basic with the information. I am also worried that I’m not getting any packets and other are. Anyone at the Allegheny day program get a packet or anything?

Thank you so much for sharing that information.

Haha, all white doesn’t do anyone any favors. Fingers crossed for dark colored scrubs

I, too, also fear that we are going to miss some important information due to COVID-19. So it’s nice that we Have this forum to keep us updated should any of us receive anymore information ?

Sure! You’ll probably find out something before I will LOL did they mention anything about the schedule? Like how many days a week we will be attending class/clinical?

Not really, but I think that, between clinicals, labs, and classroom time, it’s pretty much a full-time/5 days a week load.
She did mention that there may be some changes to how clinicals and labs are going to be done, but we won’t know anything for sure yet.

COVID has really created a lot of questions, and they’re doing their best to figure it all out. ?

I’m so glad there are more of us here now to discuss this with each other!

Did anyone get their packet? I got mine, but it doesn’t have my health screening. When should we go for our physical?

If you login to castlebranch you can print it out from there. It says to make an appointment as soon as you can since it can take some time to get scheduled for a physical. Hope that helps!
