  1. Hey there! They came via email. Def check your spam folders! also, all of the health screenings, Background check forms are on a paid server called CastleBranch, they’re very directions in your packet on how to sign up ? the earliest appointment I could get (bc of COVID) is July, so I’d at least call and schedule so you’re ahead of the game a bit there ??
  2. I’m rooting for you!! ????
  3. Not really, but I think that, between clinicals, labs, and classroom time, it’s pretty much a full-time/5 days a week load. She did mention that there may be some changes to how clinicals and labs are going to be done, but we won’t know anything for sure yet. COVID has really created a lot of questions, and they’re doing their best to figure it all out. ? I’m so glad there are more of us here now to discuss this with each other!
  4. Oh WOW!! That's kinda cool! Can you keep us posted on anything new/pertinent? CONGRATS on your admission! ?
  5. So, the Zoom meeting was done in groups (I think there were 3 total) and it was for the folks that applied during the original application period (not extended). I also hope the new uniforms are not white... ugh.... I'm too self conscious to be walking around looking like the Michelin Man! ? It was mostly just trying to put us at ease over the covid stuff, It was all very non-specific. We glossed over topics, but nothing was looked at in depth. the main takeaway, for me, was that sometime around early May, they will start getting info out to us. She wasn't sure if it was going to be emailed/USPS, or what. That would contain information for "the next steps" (signing up for Castle Branch, scheduling drug testing, etc). She said not to DO any of that stuff yet (until we receive the welcome info), but there were some things that we could be proactive about, such as obtaining your BLS for healthcare providers certification. Don't quote me, as this was nearly a month ago now. I'm constantly worried about program communication since COVID has turned everything on its head, and I'm always worried that I didn't receive something that I should have. But another friend of mine, who was also accepted into the program at my campus, also has not received anything yet, so until that happens, I'm going to try to keep my panic to a minimum. ?
  6. @Hex1013 I’m super excited to get some more info! I keep checking the site to see if the Fall 2020 Nursing Student manual has been posted, yet, but no such luck (Just the Spring 2020) One silly little detail that I’m so excited to learn about is that in the Zoom meeting, she mentioned that the uniforms are changing for us! I’m so excited (and a little scared) to see what they’re changing to!! Anyone have any hopefuls on the scrub colors?
  7. Hello, I've not yet taken any NUR courses, but as a new nursing student approaching them this Fall, I wanted to get a head start on creating a basic understanding of the fundamentals of dosage calculation. I did a search on this site for materials, but came up dry. I was hoping that someone could recommend a book that they thought was especially helpful for working on laying down some fundamentals. I've been all over Amazon and the reviews are so mixed. One book, a reviewer ever mentions that there are multiple errors that caused them a lot of hardship in re-learning things correctly, so I def want to avoid that scenario. Thanks for any help ?
  8. @Hex1013 CONGRATS to you, too!! Gym on Zoom?! LOL. So curious about what that was like! As for pre-reqs, it was thought that they were all complete bc I have a BA from Pitt with a slew of upper level psych courses, so advising told me that my 230 would transfer for my 108. Then I found out, kind of last minute, that they were wrong. ? So, I’m lined up for Psy108 in the second Summer session. other than that, pre-reqs are done, but I’m knocking out co-reqs, too. I'm in A&P1 and MicroBio now, A&P2 is lined up for first Summer session. then the psy108, then nothing but NUR after that, starting in the fall ? are you done with co-reqs, too? I wish there were more folks here! in previous semesters, these new admission threads were booming! ours is pretty quiet! ?
  9. Hi! I’ll be at South, during the evenings. I’m currently taking a class at AC, well... It’s online now, but thats a very nice campus! Did you attend the Zoom meeting last week, or so, ago? I’m so curious to see what the new uniforms will be! I’m looking forward to getting the welcome information that’s supposed to come out this week!
  10. Hello, just wanted to know who all may be going into this Fall’s nursing program? I’m beyond excited to get going; I’ve thought about doing this for an insanely long amount of time, and it’s finally all coming to fruition!
  11. There are some necklace options for them, but they hang rather low, and you must have the passcode turned off. Theres also a decent carabiner option, too Theyre also not as accurate as a pedometer, this way
