hi
I am maryland licensed LPN, registered with excelsior in 04, moved to canada in 06 got licensed in alberta and then decided to finish my classes with EC. I am left with micro and the CPNE before i can take my NCLEX. You pay per class as u go and can have a paymnet plan for enrollment fees. I have not looked into canadian licensure and intend to do so when i have an american NCLEX license.
CNO have just changed its policies regarding licensure within canadian licensed nurses. Any provincial linsed nurse can now be licensed in ONT withut further upgrading or assessment (thats new). Good! canada looses nurses to USA and I think canada needs more nurses than ever before and will most likely registed EC grads. BC used to and i think AB does. i will know when i get there. I think there is a way somewhere.
EC programs is faster and cheaper the best way to go u can have a BSc in 6months and Nurse practioner in another 6
way to go!!!

I am surprised that you were able to get registered in albera with a MD lpn license. Ontario doesnt accept lpn licenses from the US as they are only 1 year in length. Anyway I too am looking to do my lpn to rn. I havent found anywhere except Rio university. So that is what i have my eyes on.
Hi Chris I finished my ADN in oct 09 through Excelsior.I'am currently working in a SICU in San Antonio.I had absolutly no problem finding work down here and obtaining a TN visa was a breeze. The whole thing with Excelsior ADN program is that most states will not hire you until you have one years experience or 1000Hrs work experience that is what I'm working on right now.As for licensing in Canada that is a totally different story I have E-mailed phoned and written letters trying to find out if I qualify for licensure in four provinces.B.C,ALTA,SA,MA three said absolutly not they will not reconize Excelsior's nuring program but Saskatchewan said they will reconize me as a internationally trained nurse so I have just sent off all my paper work and hope I will be able to write the CRNE in Saskatchewan. Will try to keep you posted.

Just curious if any fellow Canadians have attempted an AS/AAS Degree in Nursing through Excelsior College, and have gained licensure in Canada?
I'm an LPN with 2 years med/surg/emerg experience, and am wishing to upgrade to RN faster than those 3-4 year BS programs in Canada(sadly there is no more diploma program).
Can you even write the CRNE with an Excelsior degree in any of the provinces?? Or will they deny registration cause its an AS/AAS Degree in favor of a Bachelor's?
