Any and all advice welcome!

Hey all!

So I am taking my NCLEX-RN for the second time on September 3. I have been trying to refresh on content, but am having a hard time concentrating. Any Suggestions?! The first time I took the NCLEX I got the "around passing" on all areas except pharm. Are there any tips on how to master pharm questions? I feel as though my goal for passing is not going to happen, and I am very discouraged.

Thanks so much in advance!

I'm in the same boat, I know how you feel (I had the same results). :/ we can do it! Good luck! I test the same day. idk if I will keep it or push it back. I feel like I'm never going to be ready for this test.

What i do is group them by system (Cardiac, Resp, Neuro) first. Since it is very impossible to memorize all different meds, i make a list of suffixes for example IPRIL = Ace Inhibitors or OLOL = Beta Blockers, then write Nursing Care or Important side effects. I think for me this is the best way to learn Pharmacology questions.

You can also make a Flash Card.

i had the same thing happen. i failed my fist attemt, all 265 questions, to see the review with 5 near passings and 3 above passing. i dont think it was content but more nervs. so i am going back and doing all my kapln question trainers and questions again. now i am getting like 75+% on all of them. i dont know if it because i do know it or i recognize from the first time i studied so much. i take it again in 2 weeks and a finding it hard to stay fcused. any sggestions for success the 2nd time???

Believe me,, you won't ever feel completely ready for this exam,, but you can do lots and lots of questions to make you feel comfortable and confident,, keep the fight going,, and never give up,, think positive, positive, positive,, god will give you lots of strength and courage to fight,, I did all the 265 questions 2 days ago, and had the good pop up,, you are going to make it,, make sure you know delegation, prioritization, and management very well, the sata questions are not as hard,, follow this list,,

You can still pass,, I really think that it matters a lot doing the strategy and reading the question carefully,, follow the following steps,, from my personal experience,

1. Read the question very carefully, pay attention to keywords,, ex. Childs age,, toddler, preschoolers,, etc,, preop, how long,, or postop,, ,, and then pay attention to what they are asking,, the stem,,

2. Red answer choices carefully, you will automatically have your gut on one question,, read other choices while you eliminate if possible,,

3. Go back to the question,, and read again, if you need more clarification,, then if you see that the first answer you picked is verifiable or no other answer beats it, z then go for the first one,,

4. Remember,, every question is priority,, when they say most important,, they are saying there is one thing you have to so,, so think physical needs and ABC,

5. Please do not spend more than 1.5 min per question or even less unless you get sata question,, the n you can spend a little more,, but learn to be time efficient as it will eliminate errors

6. Do not add info,, and make assumptions,, work with what you have only,, I used to Make this mistake a lot

7. Be strong,, remain positive and focused,, remember you are going to beat this test,, which was made by humans not alians

Best wishes
