I'm just your typical confuse student in college. I really want to become a nurse and a lawyer but just don't know which way to go. I really want to become a nurse but I'm scared I might not do good in my pre-classes to get into nursing school. I've talked to a lady in one of my classes that's a nurse at a local hospital and she told me to not worry and that I will be an excellent nurse. I'm just nervous I guess. Have anybody felt the same way and how you overcome your fears?

Just to let you know...to combine your interests in law and nursing...you might want to think about a legal nurse consultant/nursing attorney...
When I first starting thinking about nursing, I thought I could never do it, I have always been a little squemish with blood/guts/body fluids. I first starting thinking about it after graduation, after I had spent 5 years pursuing a degree in business/marketing/mgmt. I figured Business was good because I had no idea what I wanted to do...once I started looking for a job in the field of marketing, I hated it, I didn't want a career of selling people things and marketing products that I didn't feel good about.
I have always worked in healthcare, so I decided to stay there, but I am taking it to the next level, I never thought I would want to work hands on with patients, but it's so interesting, and I can't wait. I start clinicals for my RN program in the Fall and can't wait! I have done a lot of research in nursing careers, talked to tons of nursing, and I can't wait to have a career that is fulfilling and challenging!
Good luck with your decision! :)

weigh your pros and cons...if you think nursing will be too hard do you think that about law school?
How long do you want to be in school? Law school is another 4 yrs on top of your BA or BS...
Also how will you pay for school..thats a biggie for me...
what it comes down to is you have to do what YOU love...if you hate your job then it just makes it all the harder...
maybe you can do a career shadowing in a hospital and a law office, sure both careers may look good in theory but when you get down to the nitty gritty thats where it matters....ie can you handle blood and other not so nice things if you become a nurse?
here is something to think about as well: to go to Law school you must have a bachelors degree in something! There isnt technically an undergrad degree that you major in to become a lawyer...same as MD..you just major in something and get a really good GPA, then youll have to take the LSAT (for law school) ...so if you want to try out nursing why not get a BSN in nursing and then apply for law school...just make sure you get all the necc. pre reqs for law school and keep your grades up!
good luck choosing a career is very difficult!
