I am going to try to make this as short as possible. Here is my situation. I interviewed for a position within the same hospital that I currently work for. The interviewing manager asked me if I had told my current manager that I was applying, I replied with no. The interviewing manager then asked me to tell her because she was going to contact her for a reference. So I told her. A few days later, my manager approaches me and asks me how interested I am in the new position because she needs to contact HR for my replacement if I am going to take the new job. I told my manager then that I was unsure and couldn't commit 100% at this time because I hadn't been offered the job yet. My manager told me that she had spoken transfer dates with the other manager so I will more than likely be offered the position according to her. I then told my manager I still didn't feel comfortable committing without an offer, but I was interested in the new position so she could take that information and do what she needed to do. This all occurred middle of last week. I have not heard anything from the interviewing manager or HR as of yet and my manager already contacted HR to start the hiring process to replace me!!
I don't know what to do. What if they don't call and offer me the job? Will I still have my original job? Do you think that I will be offered the position based on this situation?

It's all the more suspicious because your manager did not inquire as to why you wanted to leave her unit and all...
