Antelope Valley College Spring 2016

Published

Hello everyone,

I have just applied to the nursing program at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster. I just wanted to see if anyone else has applied yet. Hopefully we see how this goes.

Why do you have to redo everything? :(

Yeah if you got the titers it's fine! Just like if you have the yellow card for your immunization. Those couldn't be more than 5 years old! Lol but if you had titers done it's all good! Lol and I'm going to just go tomorrow! It's just cutting it close for work! But it'll be good to get it out of the way!

Hopefully i pass my titers test like my NP said haha All this talk is making me nervous! Im getting bloodwork done this tuesday and results discussed on saturday. As for you..Well my advice is.. you can always be late for work once or miss work once.. you literally have ONE shot for this nursing thing so don't put it off too long!

You're right! I like that advice! Thanks! ☺️ Also, is allheart.com working for anyone? It still won't work for me!

Allheart isnt working for me too but we shouldn't worry about it right now to be honest. We don't need the scrubs right now and the fitting wont be till jan? or feb? Either way worry about the immunizations and cpr stuff! Oh by the way my best friend (who might be our SI teacher :cat::)) sent me a sneak peak to a future CNSA get together! Everyone accepted for spring 2016 is welcome, including family! We get to ask questions and meet other students/ new students! Make sure to come! Here is the flyer! http://puu.sh/lMbF6/60b980e867.png

That looks awesome! Definitely going to enjoy that! Also, we get an SI leader in the nursing program?!? í ½í¸

I haven't had anything done since before high school. My cousin can look at health records from NV (where I used to live) and said she couldn't pull up anything on me. Which is weird, I guess I don't exist lol

all heart site still isn't working for me either

Okay, so I got CPR certified yesterday. And I absolutely loved my instructor! And I was the only one who signed up so it was just her and I! She was so helpful! It was a pretty long class though! 3 hours. I did have questions, and she let me practice as much as I needed too! But by the end of it I had fun! How's everyone doing for finals week?! Hopefully surviving!

My titers test said i was immune to everything!! No vaccinations needed! :woot: The only thing left is for me to do my drug screen test and purchase my liability thing and I'm complete! School is over and the long wait for Feb begins! What day of the orientation are you guys attending? My friend won't be able to make it to the first one so I might have to go to the second orientation.

How did I not get notifications for any of these messages :( haha omg!! im finishing up all the requirements on thursday (picking up drug screening results/paying for ) and im going with my mom to get mt CPR card in Jan. uhmm i havent really decided what day i want to do orientation.. i know i need to try on scrubs, but i feel like everyone will do the first day and we all wont fit in the class haha... i met with the nursing counselor and she said that they might try and do a "family day" .. but wasnt sure about the details.. Fishbubbles!! are you in the facebook group?!

Im starting in spring 2016 as well. I applied a year ago. im very nervous. All my titers say i am not immuned even though ive had all the shots as a child. i have to take them all over again. im taking my CPR class at AV in feb.

I have been waiting to get accepted. im so excited but i live all the way in the valley. Sun valley to be exact. I hope the weather wont be an issue for me.
