I've finally completed my first year of nursing on a progressive unit and looking to apply to an ICU. I really want to become a CVICU RN. I applied once to the unit and emailed the manager saying I was interested, but she told me her positions were already filled. I applied again for the second time when another position became available, emailed her and said I was still interested. She told me that she had positions available and I reaffirmed that I was still interested, but haven't received a response yet. It has been two business days since I sent the email. Would a third email be overbearing?

Maybe go down and try to meet with her face to face? Just so she knows who she is emailing with. I would wait a bit before emailing again. Sometimes it takes a little longer to set up the interview process. Good luck!

I read elsewhere on the forum that trying to show up on the unit to meet the manager was considered rude. My buddy who took the last position was able to schedule an interview almost instantly with her. I really want this position but I'm at the point where I feel like I'm annoying her.

You do not need to send a third email. She got the first two.
I heard that she's someone you have to stay on top of. I'm just really anxious about being able to score an interview with her.

It may be best to ask your co-workers. I have no idea what your workplace and work culture aspects are to make any reasonable suggestion.

You may very well be. She got your first two emails. Do applications need to be submitted online & processed/screened by HR? What did your buddy do differently? Did your buddy send multiple emails? Did your buddy stalk her on the unit?
HR does screen the apps and they were forwarded to her. My buddy was able to maintain contact with her very easily via email and had no problem scheduling the interview. It seems like a luck of the draw kind of deal, but I don't want to sit idle when I could possibly score a job there.
