Just curious to see if anyone else out there has applied for the Fall 2011 RN program at AACC? Would also love to hear any information about the program from current and former AACC students...

I thikn I have a good GPA also (3.7) My husband said, do you really think that 80 other people have that and higher, and I said YES, that is why I am so nervous ... lOl!

Now that we're getting down the to wire, I'm so nervous! Just want to wish everyone good luck on getting selected- hopefully we'll all get in and get to meet each other face-to-face at the orientation!

TO Jessica, Kate and the other hopefuls,

Relax, you should be fine! 3.8 is really great, and usually the "bubble" is around 3.3-3.4 for the Fall semester -- and even then there are exceptions.

If you don't get in by GPA this semester, starting in the Spring 2012 they are going to the TEAS test, and that may be a better indicator on your aptitude to get in! GPA is subjective, I know some really good test takers that dont grasp the answer, and some really great students that are horrible test takers! Just relax, and I am sure you will be fine. It is out of your hands at this point, enjoy the Summer!

Sorry I didn't answer your question sooner, the notification must have gone to my spam box, but bmcicala did a good job at covering everything. Again, we both recommend the hybrid program, it is really a great asset to the program for moms like us!

Hey Hybrid-ers - was it a higher GPA for the Hybrid Program or Lower? I assume higher hut just curious. Thanks

What they did was ask the 88 students "WHO wanted to be in the Hybrid program"? Of those who responded, they accepted the highest GPA's to those 16 slots. It is weird being 1 of 16 instead of 1 of 72. I mean the teachers KNOW us a lot better which can be GOOD and BAD, :/

The rationale in taking the highest GPA's was that academically "we" were capable of self-learning and self-direction. As bmcicala said, it has been challenging being the "pilot" group or guinnea pigs as we see it. They are hopefully learning from our trials and errors and that makes me feel good about paving the way for the comming student.

I have applied for Fall 11 too :) and cant wait to find out! I ended up with a 3.52 GPA From reading the previous comments that seems to be average, so I hope its good enough! Brie? are you Brie from Dr Quitons class? Well good luck to everyone!!

Hey Kristi. I AM :) I met with an advisor and she said I had a better than average chance of getting in. So that means the dame for everyone here! We should find out by the end if the week and I am DYING! I wonder if they will send to our AACC mail also? Or just regular mail?

And just tolarify. Themeeting is Monday June 13th 9a-12 noon right?

Wr need to make a sign or something saying we are from here. LOL!

I recognize your name from Dr. Quiton's online exam reviews, lol. I had her for A & P too, just in a different section. :) I totally agree that we should all do something to make ourselves recognizable to each other at orientation. (We should all wear the same color shirts or something) ;) It will be nice to put some faces to all these posts- they've been so great for helping with the waiting! Don't get me wrong, it's still making me crazy, but knowing I'm not the only one makes it a little more bearable, lol.

Hey everybody!! I have been stalking the nursing department ;) and they told me that the letters went out YESTERDAY!!!! AHHH!! I am going crazy, but I am so excited as well! I will keep everybody updated and I hope you all update as well... We should all do something recognizable for orientation.. any ideas?

Now I am freaking out quite a bit. They went out yesterday! I almost want to call and be like someone smashed my mailbox so yOu MUST tell me NOWWWW!

I was thinking that too do you guys know where the meeting is at? And I know Kate & Kristi. So the three of us can be together OR we can post a Picture of us without acceptance letter lol! I am doing it already and it will be my FB pic until school actually starts and I am super stressed again. Haha! My mail should be coming soon ;) AHHHHHH
