Hello! I have been looking for a thread for ARC for Spring 2016 and have yet to see one so decided to start one myself! Anyone applying for ARC's ADN program for Spring 2016 that want to share any questions or concerns while we wait for acceptance letters? This is my 5th time applying and am really hoping this is my lucky semester!
I know that I got very lucky and I feel so sad for those who didn't make it this time. But please don't give up hope and keep moving forward. Next semester, many more local programs will be available. Spring is hard because locally, only ARC offers ADN.
Honestly, I think it was pure lottery luck of the 1/3 top scores. Don't get too caught up in figure out what went wrong. If you scored as high as 70 or higher, you did something RIGHT. You studied hard and worked hard. You WILL get in and be successful.

SCC also offers ADN, however they changed their filing process to only once per year. That filing period will be this February and will be for the Fall '16 and Spring '17 classes. ARC still has 2 filing periods every year for their ADN program.
If you weren't selected for a program for this Spring, reapply everywhere next Semester and don't give up! Once the class roster has been finalized, they'll do some statistical stuff and publish the point level that got people into the random selection pool. Remember, generally, once you're in the pool, your chances of being selected no longer depend upon your points unless you've got such a high point total that they must select you... if they're selecting a number of highest points earned.
For those of you that were selected, congratulations!!! You're in for a whirlwind of activity for the next 2-3 YEARS as you go through all the stuff necessary to start the program, go through it, graduate, and find your first jobs. Pay attention to all the stuff they require you do because you can still be disqualified from the program for failure to turn stuff in. In a way, nursing school for you starts NOW because they're going to want to know you can follow directions.
Just got an email from Nursing Dept., that my application was qualified but not selected. I think we all saw that coming, when people say that they got their acceptances and alternative letters, you know that you will be getting that other email soon. I was hoping to get into ARC Nursing program, but that's okay, at least I have a spot in Sac City College.
I still haven't gotten anything if they were gonna send out rejection letters why do them in batches, not all at once. It seems like everyone who got a spot got their letter whether it was an actual spot or as an alternative yesterday, but its killing me waiting for the email that says not accepted

You should go find out. What if your application got lost or they might of made a mistake in your email address. Typing all the student id's I'm sure they could make a mistake. Just find out for yourself!!! You deserve to know.

You'll have a very good experience at SCC. I went there and know the majority of the instructors well, and have met all of the current instructors. They want their students to succeed. SCC's program is tough by any standard but it's very doable.

I am so bummed about not getting in, really though I will get in... Congrats to all that did. By the way for those people that got accepted how many points did you have at the time you applied. Tnx, would reapply appreciate the responses.
