On Army board results for April and May? They apparently are combining and releasing the results at the same time. I applied for the Army Nurse Candidate Program and boarded on April 14th. The May boards started May 5th. Still no word, and my recruiter is getting harder to contact. I don't know, like I said earlier, I have lost a lot of interest. I still want it, but am apathetic at this point. Thanks everyone!
Athena,
I am going to take the oath this afternoon at my mother's house. It will mean a lot to her for me to do it there. My wife and some of my kids will be there as well. A retired LTC friend who was an Army CRNA will swear me in. Thanks for all of your ecouragement through all of this. It has been a long journey so far. I am looking forward to the road ahead though with excited anticipation.
2soldiers44,
thanks for the kind words. I am an Army Reserve STRAP person completing an RN to BSN program so I am not stationed anywhere. During the STRAP phase I am assigned to APMC (Army Professional Management Command). Upon completion of my BSN I will be assigned a unit.
How long have you been in the Army? Where are you stationed?
Hello again markisrn,
I was just com. Feb. 28th as 1Lt. , recieved orders late March to report to unit in PA first weekend in May. (Started this whole process late Nov.) Didn't go to first drill since same day as youngest sons prom and already had out of town plans for that weekend. They were very understanding so next and my first drill weekend will be July 11th. This site is wonderful because I have already been in contact with two fellow R.N. s from the same unit who were just recently commissioned also. After 20 plus years of nursing I never went back to get my BSN and MRN but plan to once I'm in reserves. I know it sounds odd to do it that way and most people do the strap program but I was more interested in joining first due to my age and then go back to school since all the kids are out of the nest. Just hope they need me over there soon. I'm putting in for overseas deployment but was told I had to go to OBC in November first. But you never know!!! Best of luck with school since I can't wait to start that too!!! P.S. How the pics turn out???
2soldiers44,
Congrats on your February commission! It was sure nice of them to let you miss that first drill, but I am sure you are excited about going to your first one. I don't have to drill while on STRAP, but would like to anyway if I can get that going somehow. I was in the infantry as a young man and always loved going to drill. I wished I had stayed in all of these years, but am so happy to be back. I admire you and your desire to be deployed. It seems like you really want to do some good. I think that's why most of us are in nursing to begin with. It is hard work no matter what your specialty is, so you have to like it to stick with it right? Best of luck to you too, and the pics turned out OK. My Mom took them, so they are not the greatest, but they'll do. Digital cameras don't agree with her.

Hey LT, Welcome aboard!
Hey, when you Commission, try to have some digital pictures taken. Be nice to have them to look back on.
Where will you take the Oath?
Congratulations, once again!
