Think you answered your own question....

It pleases me to see more age demographic in the industry. I have noticed a kind synergy if you would be so bold to call it that when there are both young and old both experienced and new nurses to the industry. It bring with it a homogeneous blend of life experience and connects albeit not always seamlessly with excellence in team work and profound growth. I was older when I started and you may find a difference in younger fresh out of high school and a few older individuals, and also a curious observation with more men becoming nurses in the class room. Not everyone will work in a team, there will be personality conflicts or as I recall fist fights and the police bring called. From an observational perspective you receive a good range of personality types that perhaps like myself may have you reaching for the DSM 5 no to label others but to learn and apply. There has been quite a bit of published work on nursing knowledge and many theory associated within that battery of information that may help you understand and navigate however, since you start class my best advise us to protect yourself from drama, focus on your studies, and always remember to balance that with something enjoyable. Class as recall dose prepare you it also creates a lot of anxiety. Depending on what is expected of you, and if you have professors that motivate there students with fear or inspiration in a notoriously textbook heavy course I would ask you to please take time to evaluate how you feel and not become subject to becoming overwhelmed. In closing I believe it is amazing to read more nurses are entering the workforce at different ages and while I do not know you as an individual I am already proud to see your bravery and desire to become a nurse we need more of you.
