Alvin Community College ADN Fall 2011

Published

Hi there, any of you applying to the fall 2011 program?

yep, i think we all did. :)

I went from number 16 to number 5 im still keeping the faith! congrats to all that were accepted my wait continues.....

Good luck to all of you that got in and those that are on the wait list! I just graduated from ACC and it is an awesome school. Nursing school is hard, but well worth the sleepless nights, stress, long clinical days, endless papers, and tests that will give you nightmares! :yeah:

Thanks for the comment. Congrats to you on the completion of the program. Good luck to you one the NCLEX!

Thanks! I took the NCLEX on June 14th and passed!! There are two things I would highly recommend to anyone going into any nursing program: 1) Buy the Saunders NCLEX review book to help you study for tests (it's a big yellow book -- unless they have come out with a new edition)and also there is a book that one of the instructors actually contributed to called Illustrated Study Guide for the NCLEX-RN Exam, 7th ed. Both of these are WONDERFUL books to have as study guides; and 2) When it comes time to take a review course for NCLEX, Hurst is the absolute best review course out there hands down!!!

Good luck guys, and if you have any questions along the way, feel free to ask. Will you have the "deer in the headlights look" after the first week? Absolutely! LOL........but y'all can do this!

thanks for that info!!! I will definately keep that in mind :)

Who's excited/nervous about tomorrow???? I am!!! Lol I think I deleted the email she sent out a few weeks ago. Does anyone know what we need to take tomorrow??? Thanks! :-)

Any of you purchased your books already? I was looking at the bookstore and online, it looks like the bookstore is actually cheaper then buying them through amazon or somewhere.

Did you go to the bookstore in person? I tried looking up the books online but couldn't :(

I went after orientation. They have most of the books, but not all of them yet. San Jac Bookstore was a lot more than buying online, so I wanted to compare Alvin's prices to online. So far, looks like Alvin Bookstore has really good prices. :)

I should of done that :( I bought foundations on amazon for 159.00 pharmacyology book for 75. I hope I didn't get ripped off too much!!

How much was the foundations book at the bookstore?
