So, I applied to my program but got the email saying although I hadn't been accepted for admission, I did rank high enough to be an alternate. I accepted my alternate position right away!! Although, they cant tell me what number or rank I am I was wondering if any of you had been placed as an alternate or are currently one and what the chances are? Trying to ease my mind but this is def nerve-wracking!!
Responses are appreciated!!

I guess the chances would depend on how competitive the program is.... such as how notable the school is, and how may people apply versus the available seats.

It was so long ago (>30 yrs) that I don't know that it makes any difference, but I applied late to nursing schools and was told I was accepted as an alternate to my first choice school (I think I was told I was #4 on the list). I did end up being notified that I was in and starting the program with the rest of the class. Best wishes to those who are waiting to for good news, and congrats to the OP!
Just wanted to let you guys know I GOT IN!!!!!
