Almost Finished So Excited!!!!

Just wanted to give an update of my experience this semester (Spring 2013). I'm in Level II I'm taking NUR 105 (Adult Health) and NUR 106 (Maternal and Child). Last week was mid term and my group just finished up our clinical rotation at the hospital, now we are on Spring Break.

Well clinicals could not have gone any better than they did for me, once again I was blessed to have a wonderful clinical experience. I enjoyed every bit of it, I feel like I learned a lot more in clinicals than in the class room. I see what they mean by experience is the key because a lot of things that we learned in class makes more sense during clinicals and getting out their and doing it.

The staff was wonderful all the way from the DON on down. It was an incident that happened during our rotation that could have went totally left or could have been worse if we wasn't there and showing initiative and being very attentive. The DON personally thanked us for what we accomplished there and gave us compliments and even stressed the fact to us that we were the BEST group that came through there! She made it clear that she just wasn't telling us that just because we were there and that she meant it. It made us feel very good.

The nurses there were always polite and gave us plenty of advise and allowed us to shadow them while they were doing different things. Although we had a patient assigned to us, we assisted any patient that needed assistance on the floor, or other nurses and PCT's. My clinical instructor this rotation was beyond wonderful, she was able to guide all 8 of us, it seemed like she never took a break. She taught us a lot and was very patient.

The theory is going good, I'm definitly starting to see the light at the end of this tunnel. We take finals the first week of May 2013, then we start the last semester (Level III) the end of May then we will be taking finals the first week of August 2013 then GRADUATION!!!:) I'm sooooo beyond exicited and I'm truly blessed. If it wasn't for GOD I would not be here. Sometimes it's hard for me to focus because it seems unreal to me that in just 4 more months I will be finished with Nursing School.

It has been such a long road I've been struggling financially, emotionally, and physically for over 7 years it's been a lot of mountains, a lot of stopping and going, working 2 or sometimes 3 jobs along the way, alot of things happening and going on personally. But through it all Nursing School stayed on my list of Goals and I pushed forward to get here. And most importantly I asked God to show me the way and if this is what you want me to do then guide me and give me the strength to do it. Even though I wanted to be a nurse I knew that it had to be in God's plan. And with everything that has happened along the way I know that God is with me and has never left my side.

Good luck to all of you who is on this journey of becoming a nurse or at persuing any career and God Bless you! And remember that you have to do what's in your heart to do and pasionate about doing not what everyone else wants you to do!

I just wanted to gloat and share my feelings with you all I know that you all can relate to how I'm feeling. I enjoy reading about everyone's experiences so please comment! Sorry so Long!:D

Wow, good for you! I keep telling myself that for when I start my 10 month lpn program "Life is gonna be tough physically, emotionally, mentally, financially, etc, but it will be done eventually and it will be well worth it!" Its always nice to hear these stories instead of horror stories! Once again, congratulations and good luck in the future!

Congrats! I'll be finished with my LPN program the 1st week of Aug as well! It's been such a blessing to see my dreams come to past! I failed out of RN school in 2011 & almost let my advisor talk me out of pursuing my dream of being a nurse! It's by the grace of God that u got into a LPN program & I'm currently the top student in my program! God is good & I'm glad I waited & didn't give up! & I'll just go ahead & speak that NCLEX passed whenever we take it! Ain't no stopping us now! Nothing but bigger & better blessings in store for us! LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN! Be blessed!
