allnurses.com helpful to busy students or an unnecessary distraction?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

After 2.5 years of prerequisites, I'm finally starting the nursing program next fall. My school's program is excruciatingly competitive...nobody has a chance unless their GPA is 3.5+. I have "stopped facebook" in preparation. I'm new here at allnurses, is it addictive and distracting or helpful and enriching?

Specializes in RN, BSN, CHDN.

Information is always subjective to interpretation. When asking for advice on a website you are always going to get differences of opinions.

This is no different to the advice you recieve in 'real' life where you must sort out what advice you are going to use and what advice you are going ignore.

All wonderfull responses! Thanks, I will be on guard! I really like the athmosphere here :D

So today I went looking for another forum someone mentioned and I found a forum on Native American nursing! I can't believe there is an entire sub forum dedicated to it. I am heavily considering moving to New Mexico with an interest in Native American healthcare.

I love all nurses.

Everything in moderation.

I find it to be extremely helpful and not a distraction at least not for me anyways.

I think it is very helpful!! I was just notified today of my acceptance for Fall and this site has been GREAT! Alot of answers to questions and lots of feedback!
