I have been on Alli for about a month now and I have lost about 6 pounds. I never realized how much fat I consumed!!! Gross! Anyways, the program is easy but you do have to follow the guidelines (15 grams of fat per meal) I combine that with 4 1 hour sessions of cardio a week and I feel great. I am taking a break this week though because I miss certain foods and rewarding myself. Just can't reward too much!!
I think some people just need a little help in the beginning. It is easy to start to workout then backtrack. After all, you don't begin to 'feel' good until weeks into excercise. Before then many give up and go back to comfort food.
If there is a pill that can help someone start dropping pounds and begin envisioning themselves in a swimsuit in Cancun what is so bad about that? That could be all the motivation they need to get onto a treadmill or walk around the neighborhood.
In the meantime- there is always Depends right? :-)
A friend at work is taking this; she said it has really changed how she eats. She doesn't have any problems with "leakage" unless she eats too much fat. She's been doing it for 6 weeks, has lost 10 pounds, and has started to exercise.
Her plan for the long term is that she will become used to eating healthily and exercising regularly. Already she said that she sometimes forgets to take it, but doesn't change her eating habits on the days she forgets. She's hoping that her healthy efforts will become habits.
I say more power to her. This is a woman who hasn't exercised ever. She got a Wii fit and does it every morning. She's really inspired me. I've recently joined a gym and have committed to exercising every day. So my coworker taking the Ali has resulted in BOTH of us getting more exercise. I'm benefitting from the Ali without having to take it!!!

First of all i am not that heavy but i take some medications that help with the excess pounds anyways. Besides all the soda I eat well. I drink so i dont have to take anything special. I eat lots of different foods because my husband and i eat out all the time. I had to get on synthroid because my thyroid was out of wack and than i started having trouble with the levels. So now I am taking a new dose. Anyways I pretty much have it under control now. Because I am diabetic I also have to take my amaryl so that helps.
