So today was going relatively well. Got a headstart on weight/height screenings before going on maternity leave next week. Then literally five minutes before the darn bell rings, I am bombarded with a child that just vomited, another who had a chair fall on top of his head, and a child who hurt his wrist at recess hours before but was complaining of pain all of a sudden. Why, why, why?! Of course I had to be super fast and call each parent before some of them went home on the bus with ice packs and such. I'm exhausted. Does this ever happen to anyone else right before dismissal?!
indeed - or the parade of children sent in for temp checks at the end of the day (or what i think of as teachers praying for late day fevers so they will have smaller classes tomorrow).
