I think it would be helpful to list all LPN STNA and RN programs in different areas of Ohio. Google and other searches arent always complete or current. There's allot of progras I didn't know about that I found on this board.

sorry if theres already a post like this feel free to delete.

I'll name the ones in my area

Sinclair- STNA, RN

Warren county career center- STNA and LPN(?)

Miami Jacobs- LPN

Butler Tech- STNA, LPN

Kettering college of medical arts- RN, BSN

cinciemt

which places have you checked into? there are lots of schools in that area, so that is why i am asking!

I wanted to find an evening class and tried hondros (no evening classes), bohecker, beckfield, and brown mackie, and I can get in right away but it cost $33,000-45,000 dollars to get an lpn and then an rn. raymond walters has a two year wait after prereq. that would take 5 years for me all together. same with cincinnati state. christ, st joseph, and good sam dont have a waiting list but I would have to get there prereq's done and hope im one of the aplicants to get accepted in aug. 2009 other wise I have to wait another year. I really want to start a career as a nurse but I cant find a place to start. Any Ideas? Thanks

I think you are about where I was when I first started to seek out schools for nursing. No matter where you go, there is a waiting list. I was told the reason behind the waiting list is simply, because there are not enough nurses to teach the classes! I had looked while I was living in Illinois, the same thing there. You must complete all of your pre-requisites and then you will be placed on the waiting list which is 2 yrs long. I have to say though with the college I am currently attending, LCCC, the pre-req's before you can submit your application to the program is much shorter then most. Basically if you have Chem done and you have a GPA of 2.5 you can submit your apllication. While on the waiting list you complete the rest of your pre-req's, which believe me is a lot of them. But you live out by Cincinnatti, so the school I go to does not help! You can check into Case Western Reserve University. You can start out at any level there to complete up to a doctorate in nursing. Again though, I'm not sure if it will help it's in cleveland. Have you checked into anything in Colombus or Indiannapolis? Those seem to be the nearest towns that may offer more selection.

Miami University in Middletown and Hamilton doesn't have wait-lists. The program is just during day hours though. No option of evening classes. They will be doing away with the ADN after the class thats entering in Aug 09. They will then just have the tradition BSN and RN-BSN.

You know I actually found out that Tri-C doesn't have a real waiting list either. It took me long enough to figure that out though! Hope this helps any one else out there.

Hi, out of the schools listed did anyone go to Kettering medical college for their ADN? Or is anyone attending currently? If so, could you share any advice and your experience?

Thanks,Angela
