I am only beginning my nursing studies but have been a paramedic for 14 years. Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron is a great place with what I hear is a great NICU

I have heard good things from those who work at Akron Children's Hospital. Here is a link to the nursing section of their website, if you haven't already looked into it....you can apply on-line.

Akron City Hospital (part of SUMMA) has a Special Care Nursery....I have been in that unit as a student, and it is a very pleasant unit.... nice atmosphere.

Living in the Akron area is great...lots to do, very diverse...You can live in the city, or a rural area and still be just a short drive to the Hospitals. If you want to be very close, Cuyahoga Falls is a nice place to live.

Hi LeesieBug and nice to meet you,i think we are from the same age.

Thank you for your reply. My sister told the same thing about the atmosphere.

But my problem is i don't know a recruiter or anybody to help me with my papers or at least to provide me a work ,then i can apply for the NCLEX,I am waiting and losting my time because i don't know in which state i will have a job.How can i find a sponsor?

I know absolutely nothing about international issues.... there is an International Nursing forum that people seem to find very helpful, with many nurses participating who are very knowledgable about this subject.

Heres a link in case you have trouble finding it.:

Good luck with everything...I hope you can find the answers you need.:)

Both Ohio and Texas require the CES from CGFNS. It doesn't matter where you apply for intial licensure, you can endorse to which ever state afterwards. You just need to pass NCLEX first. You can apply for licensure before you take the NCLEX exam. Most of the better facilities will not make a job offer until you have passed the NCLEX exam. I would start with that first.

Hi again,I have done the CES when I was studying wit Phoenix University i year later,What should i do next to apply for NCLEX?
