:yeah:Yayy! But you took the first step and registered to do it! I know exactly what you're going through but in my case it's been 17 years. I was the oldest one in my Psych class over the summer (including the teacher :imbar). I was struck by how young these kids are when we started talking about Sept 11th and nobody had a real grasp for what happened that day. They couldn't! They were only 12 or 13 at the time
But I was the smartest kid in the class anyway and ended up with an A - people were looking to me for answers
Use your experience and motivation to keep you going even when it starts getting tough! You'll be glad you waited, believe me.
I am thinking the same thing about being one of the older ones in class, I'm taking my Soc class with a co-worker so that will be nice and the nurses that I work with on the night shift are all excited to help me out, so it sounds like I'll be alright :)
Thanks for the encouraging words :)

yay for you! i know how scary it is to take that first step into the classroom after a bazillion years out of school. listen to the other posters when they say you'll be fine, because you will.
since your co-worker is taking the class with you, you have a built in study buddy. (i found it hard studying with the 18year olds, many couldn't stay focused.) one of the pros of being a "returning" student for me was that i wasn't nervous or embarrased to ask questions like i was the first time, so if i wasn't sure of the material, i'd ask a thousand times until i "got it". by the end of the first semester, some of the kids would ask me to ask questions for them!
take a nice hot, relaxing bath tonight, go to bed early, and walk in there tomorrow with a smile on your face and an extra pen.
let us know how you make out!

You'll do fine. I have 3 sciences left (2 this semester and 1 next) to complete before applying to the RN program. I had no college prior and have been out of HS since 1986. It has taken a little while longer than I wanted (since fall '05) but with kids and life responsibilities it is what it is. Best of Luck to You!
