I also am applying but for a clinical nurse position. My recruiter hasn’t mentioned anything about Covid causing any delays... but then again my recruiter doesn’t tell me much of anything so who knows. I have 2 years med/surg experience, my CMSRN , and 9.5 years active duty time in the Air Force, currently in the reserves.
My recruiter told me last December to wait until April to start, them covid happened. I did that and now I’m still waiting to go to MEPS and do my interviews. I feel like he’s been pretty up front with me but it’s coming down to the last minute which makes me nervous. He did say boards aren’t meeting until the first part of October so hopefully we’ll get everything completed in time.

Sorry I misread your comment. I’ll be interested to hear how it goes. My recruiter asked me if I was able to travel 2.5 hours away to do my chief nurse interview from what ask I’ve read from others, it seems most are by phone.
The consultant interview was over the phone. It was more a conversation with the consultant making sure I understood what life as an AD NP would be like, because I've been a civilian NP for over a decade. He did ask several specific questions about how my family would handle moves and deployments. I have a 6 hour drive to get to the chief nurse interview! I was told that interview would be different and more like a real job interview.
I'm nervous for MEPs, because I'm older and have had a few minor medical things over the years. I'm nervous they'll just keep asking for more medical records and more medical records and take forever. I'm so old that many of my records have been destroyed. Has anyone dealt with this or waivers? Once they accept you to come to MEPs are you pretty much fine unless you failed to mention that you are missing limb or something?

Hello all,
I have looked all over this site in hopes of finding others that are getting their packets ready and are applying to the Air Force this fall. I have not found any recent threads on this.
I am applying for an ER spot. I have been a RN for 7 years and work in a Level II trauma emergency center. I have my MSN-Administrative Leadership and TCRN. Is there anyone out there that is also getting their packets ready for October boards? My recruiter told me that because of COVID everything has been pushed back and that boards will meet in October this year. He also told me that I would be going to MEPS and doing my medical in the next 3 weeks.
