Yea no news on my end either! I figured I would give that MSgt some time for leave! It's been 7 duty days since the 15th, the date that all selectes had to say "yay" or "nay", so I was thinking I was going to write my recruiter either Monday or Tuesday asking if she has heard anything new! Once I hear something whether it be news or not, I will still post something on here! ;]

Well guys...today starts a new week. let's hope the MSgt got back from vaca and is updating the list now! Post with any news :)

Hey all! I wrote my recruiter two days ago and she just wrote me back. It's not what I wanted to hear but I guess it's somewhat good news. Here is what she wrote me:

"Hi Tiffany,

Sorry, there hasn't been any change in the alternate status. I

believe they are still working out who declined."

Good news in a sense that they are still trying to update and find out who has declined. Hope everyone is well and has a great and safe Labor Day weekend! :)

Hey all, so good to see a lot of y'all on here:). I'm one of the OB selects and just wanted to update you on what may be taking so long for the alternates. My assumption is that not all of the selects have even found out when they are going to COT and have even gotten their orders. I happen to be one:( They said its cuz my hubby is active duty and they are trying to situate us to be stationed together after all of my training. But that's alright, I'm patiently waiting. The uniforms are very spendy. I spent about 1200 on 2 sets of Abu's, 2 sets of blues, a pair of boots a pair of black shoes, The PT uniforms, tshirts, socks, belts, 2 silver name tags, 2 blue name tags, metal and sew on butter bars, nursing badge, cam hat ,flight hat, and I'm sure there are a couple of things I'm missing on this list that I got. But it wasn't 2000. I didn't get the formal mess dress. But I heard that's about 800.

I'm still crossing my fingers for everyone and gonna keep checking on here and will be waiting to celebrate with y'all. Good luck!!!!

Hey there alternates!

I know it has been a looooong time since anyone has commented on here, but I wanted to bring up the news about there not being a board this year for NTP and they are going to select from the alternates list! Has anyone else heard this from their recruiters?

I'm currently #9 and I hope to hear news soon that this is actually real and I have been selected.

Hey!

I did not hear that. My recruiter said there would be. But I did get an email stating that if we're still interested, they may be able to give us positions next fiscal year. I'm number 5 for OB, but they only took 5 total last board, so hopefully they take 5 alts! Who knows!!!

On another thread (Air Force Nursing 2013), another alternate posted this e-mail he got from his recruiter:

"ALCON,

Currently, we're sitting on 39 NTP med-surge alternates and 7 NTP OB

alternates.

Since we have identified our combined FY13 FQ Clinical and OB Nurse goal of

40 (with 3 alternates and 33 apps in house for 13NC02), there are no slots

to roll the "NTP alternates that have gained 6 months of AFPC-approved

experience" into FQ selects. These folks will have to settle for the next

sequential FQ alternate spot. With that said, we expect to roll over FY13

FQ NC alternates into FY14 FQ NC selects once we receive the FY14 goal from

SG1 (in Mar-Apr).

We also expect to roll over the remaining NTP alternates that have not

attained the 6 months experience into FY14 NTP selects once we receive the

FY14 goal from SG1.

Be mindful of items that might have expired since initial application

(licenses, certifications, physicals, etc).

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Respectfully,

W. Frank Rawls, SMSgt, USAF

Supt, Med Accessions Section

HQ/Air Force Recruiting Service"

Seems pretty rock solid... but I am always skeptical when things seem too good. Let's just keep crossing our fingers! I am supposed to hear form the recruiter (hopefully soon) if this is all true.

So ok...that's a lot of jumble to me. I have 3 months now of experience in ED but applied OB. By the time I go in, I'll have more than 6mo experience...the way that email looks, does that mean they'll have a spot since I was NTP alt and then will be rolled in to FQ?
