Hey guys! Thought I'd start this after seeing a request :)
My name is Hope..graduate in December with my BSN. Applied OB... Alternate #5
Hey Alts...have any of you gotten letters in the mail about being an alt? I'm debating if we'll get one or not, or if they just send acceptance and declining letters. Thanks!
Hope, my recruiter says the people that 'select' us solely go through the recruiter to tell us, so I personally don't think they send out letters! I specifically asked her how we would know if we got chosen as an alternate and she said they will contact her so....yea! :)
hey HBaum,
your right, it does feel like a big family. its cool how that works with the military. and yeah, its nice to go on this site and not feel like a weirdo. LOL. as I am looking on the site for the commissioned officer training course, I can't believe how much the uniforms are. they are close to $2000. i am definitely gonna have to save. LOL. and worst of all, that money has to be paid upfront. they dont take little by little out of your check either which sucks too.

Ohhhh! Alrighty! That makes sense. Well dang...more waiting! Sheesh!
Hey everyone..I'm not sure if any of you have heard, but I thought I'd throw it out there. Bands For Arms is an amazing company that is a group of military members that volunteer their time (after a long day of work), to make bracelets out of old donated military uniforms. I highly suggest you guys check it out! The bracelets aren't expensive, and it's pretty cool because they send you a card with your bracelet of who the person was that donated their uniform and what their job was!
I just received two bracelets I ordered..the 2011 Nurse's bracelet (the one that says Comfort) and the 2012 nurses bracelet! :) Check it out at http://www.bandsforarms.com.

Well good luck to you too! And this site is a life saver :) it's where everyone can say how stressed they are waiting, and dreaming about getting their own cammies and Air Force blues without feeling weird! Hahah. Because other people feel the same way :) we have sort of become a family :)
