Hey all! I'm applying as a fully qualified applicant in September for the NICU identifier. Anyone else applying next month? I heard from my recruiter that the board meets September 11. The only thing left I have to do is my Chief Nurse Officer interview next Friday. I haven't really heard of too many speciality applicants this time around, so would be great to hear from someone! Ha

Hey! I just got back literally 10 minutes ago from Nashville. I had my CNO interview this morning. It was an awesome experience, actually meeting my recruiter (and the recruiter that I started with that got promoted) and interviewing with the CNO. She was so down to earth and easy to talk to. I also had my recruiter show me the numbers again (just making sure nothing changed!) lol. Still 30 slots for the med surg position that I applied for. I did find out that if anyone wants OR, now is the time-they didn't get enough applicants and can pull from med surg. I believe he said they are down 3. And OR is apparently in high demand. Now starts the countdown till mid October. So excited! I went in feeling really discouraged, but came out a lot more hopeful!

Has anyone heard how many flight nurse positions are currently available and how many applicants there are?

Lol never mind just found out slim to none available slots

Hi Morgan or anyone else that might know, so you found out the board results are due Sept. 11? I was told that Sept. 11 is when all the paperwork is absolutely due, and the results are not until mid-end October. ??? Let me know if you find out anything new

Actually yes, my recruiter did say that sept 11 was the original date that our packages are due. However, he said we now have until the 29th when the board meets. So I guess Sept 29th?

Yeah, my recruiter said your package is due on Sept. 11 and that the board meets end of September. And then they don't release the results until mid-October. I just did my Chief Nurse interview yesterday. It went really well, the woman I interviewed with was very easy going and didn't grill me or make me feel stressed out. Obviously I was nervous, but as the interview went on, I relaxed a lot more. So now it's all out of my hands and can only wait! I hope the time goes by quickly!

Has anyone had a specialty interview or any other interview apart from the chief nurse yet? Or been told about?

I'm a "new" member on this site. However, I've used AN before to get insightful information & experiences from RNs/nursing practitioners all over. I'm meeting my recruiter for the first time on Wednesday (Sept 2) after extensive email exchanges with her. I'm applying for the December 2015 Board. According to my recruiter deadline of paperwork is the end of this month.

Questions:

1. Is it physically & strategically possible to complete the packet in 25 days?

2. I have been a nurse for 5 yrs now & all of those yrs I've spent in the ER, any insights from anyone who are currently in the USAF Nurse Corps regarding life in the ER in the AF? Any recommendation/s as far as assignments/base with ER specialty?

I have followed/read a lot of the threads from AN regarding AF Nursing & it's just AWESOME/NICE/AMAZING to see how some of the contributors are unselfishly sharing their insights/views/experiences. I feel the genuine concern. Thank you.

For my co-applicants, I wish you the best of luck & may you have your most coveted wings.

Hi TnRn,

I am excited for you. I have an upcoming chief nurse interview Sept 9 for a clinical nurse as well. I am very anxious and nervous. Any tips for the CNO? Types of questions they ask? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

What about the specialty interview do they still do that?
