Anyone else applying in September for the spring ADN program at Aiken tech?
Interesting, thank you!
albinoc, would love to learn what the schedules might be if you don't mind sharing once they are posted.
cpaschal, I noticed the preference section on the application. I think it's great that they allow students to apply to both programs. It kind of provided me with a backup plan. I did not notice that the application had to be completed on the computer. I personally just did it on the computer because I don't like my handwriting.
So besides the LPN program, did any of you guys apply to any other programs to other schools nearby?
Yes. It's for fall. I'm also applying to OC Tech-my A and P teacher highly recommended it. All of those schools take one cohort a year vs. two. Do you know where you will go if you get into both USCA and ATC. I know as soon as I get out of ATC I'll have to go right into a completion program for ADN-BSN. My goal is to eventually go to Nurse Practitioner school or at a minimum have my MSN.
Ive applied to GRU also. Waiting to hear from both. Hoping for GRU as my goal is to get a Masters but I think ATC is a very good program and if I go that route it will just take a bit longer. I too would plan on a bridge program after that. I hope I hear from GRU by December. I don't know what Im going to do if I get accepted into ATC for Jan. but still haventt heard from GRU. !!!
Hi back2sc! If I'm not mistaken, the application window for GRU is August 3 - January 15 for the fall (2016) term. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe decisions will be sent out until (at earliest) February. I was going to apply to GRU sometime in Nov/Dec if I didn't get into either programs in Aiken.
Oh! I must have missed that part, cpaschal. Thank you for pointing that out!
So with that being said, that would be ideal for back2sc - fingers crossed!!!
cpaschal, I actually looked up OC Tech right after you mentioned it. With a 100% NCLEX pass rate, you can't go wrong there. That is a great option for you to consider! Not so much for me as the commute to Aiken will already be about 45 mins to an hour.
The commute scares me also! It's 1.5 hours for me-and I worry about being so far from my kids. My husband's job doesn't allow him alot of flexibility, and what if my kids get hurt at school or something. I'm so far away. I'll do what I have to do-but it's definitely not my top choice :) I have my fingers crossed for ATC. It's the most feasible for my family at this point.

I don't think they will be doing phone calls for program preference since they added that to the application...that's what I was told -but maybe they still will. Did yall see where we had to type the application. My computer gave me the hardest time with that
