Hi,
I'm currently a dialysis nurse and trying to choose a nurse practitioner program so that I could continue to work in nephrology as an NP. I'm currently looking at AGNP programs as I think it is more relevant to my desired field.
Has it been difficult to find employment as an AGNP? What sort of job offers have AGNP graduates been receiving?

Adult gero primary care or adult gero acute care? We need clarification as there really isn't an "AGNP" it's either AG-PCNP AG-ACNP (but I'll usually write ACNP though - I think the abbreviation is too long otherwise).
Sorry for the confusion. Adult Gero Primary Care.
I'm sure you can find jobs in internal medicine as a primary care NP. There's a big need. I'm not sure of the offers though since I'm not that sort of NP.

There's a big need! Too many people doing FNP and psych. Those areas are getting saturated. The number of AGNPS is actually going down.

I found a job in both internal medicine primary care and will be moving on to long term care. I am an adult-gero primary care NP.

@SierraM, did you end up enrolling in a AGNP program? Primary care? I see Davita hires NPs. Not sure if the role focuses only on renal care or not.

I was told FNP is the way to go because it would be easier to find a position. I would think an FNP can work in the role of AGPC-NP, and this would saturate this area as well.
