AF COT 08/23/2010 Anyone Else out there?

Hey All,

I will be going to COT on 08/23/2010. Are there any other people going to be there at the same time? I know that I am very early in posting this but I'd rather be months early than 1 minute late. :D I would just like to get to know someone in advance if possible.

I am also going to be at COT in August! I will graduate with my BSN in May 2010 and then shortly thereafter take my NCLEX! I submitted to the October board, and found out in late November that I was accepted and where I was going - I was VERY pleased to find out that I got my first choice for both NTP and duty station! I'll be stationed at Lackland AFB in the L/D unit after NTP. Anyone else going to Lackland, or COT in August, shoot me a PM or a post reply!

I am going to the August 23 COT as well!!!!

I will then be going to Cinncinati, OH for the NTP and then I will be stationed at Lakenheath AFB, UK.

Thanks! I am excited. I never expected to get an overseas assignment my first one out. It will definitely be different being my first time living alone without family. Definitely keep in touch!

Congratulations to those of you getting selected.

I've heard a disturbing rumor recently from the recruiter that the AF has a good supply of nurses and will be looking to hold off on nursing boards in the near future. I don't know if anyone else has heard that or not. These are some very tough times.

Hi ladies,

I just received word today from my recruiter that I will be in the August COT class. I am finishing up my RN-BSN this April, but I have already passed the state boards and have a few months of experience as an RN.

Unfortunately we are still waiting to hear from the AFPC as to which base I will be stationed.

Well, I just got the call from my recruiter a few hours ago and.... I'VE BEEN ACCEPTED INTO THE USAF :D but.... I'm not going until January- I'm just glad I got in with SO many applications! I'm actually ok with the wait because I'll get 6 months of experience under my belt and I won't have to go through NTP!

Anybody else heard?!

CONGRATS!!! At least you know it's coming and you'll not have to deal with NTP.

My packet was at the January boards! I'm kind of surprised. I expected to not hear for a while longer.... But, I don't know if I'm getting the bonus I signed up for or where I'm going. That will take some more time!
