I currently live in VA and I am coming up on my 1 year mark. My boyfriend is stationed in Lemoore, Ca and I took a job here to get my year experience in before looking to move out to CA. Does anyone have any insight on if this will still be relatively hard to find a job with just a year experience? I work on a gen med unit get small post surg patients also. Thanks!

Lemoore is generally considered one of the more undesirable parts of the state. If you are willing to commute to the hospitals in Visalia, Hanford, Porterville or Delano, you should be able to obtain a job with moderate effort at best. Good luck to you.

When you say "My boyfriend is stationed in Lemoore, Ca....." I assume he is in the navy at NAS Lemoore. There is no acute care hospital in Lemoore, but there is Adventist Medical Center in Hanford 10-12 miles away and Kaweah Delta District Hospital in Visalia, about 30 miles away. I would suggest applying for a Ca license immediately so as to not be delayed in hiring. My most urgent advice is more personal, the military does not recognize girlfriends in any way as a "girlfriend" you will have no rights when your boyfriend is deployed or heaven forbid anything happens to him. If you are moving 3000 miles to be with him, formalize your relationship. This may also help you get employed as a military spouse, as both the hospitals I mentioned do make an effort to support the military; not necessarily as official policy but it in practice.
