To Filipino Nurses in NEW ZEALAND? Have questions please..

Good day!

I am considering trying my luck as a nurse in New Zealand.

Can anyone here help me and tell me what to expect in the 2-3months competency assessment? Is it really like attending formal school where you have lectures, exams, reports? Anyone ever failed that??

How long does it take to get a working visa after registering with NCNZ, provided of course one passed the assessment? How long does it take to get permanent residency?

How do I find a good consulting agency that can help me with the processing? Or dont I need one anymore?

I also would appreciate it if Filipino Nurses can share their experiences in NZ. Was the transition hard? How do you like the weather?

Any practical tips about starting my application to work as a nurse there besides looking at the NCNZ website?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi Fiona, Thing they are answering the question and their answer is the last sentence re NCLEX and IELTS being different. I think that it has been how they quoted. Well that is how I read it :)

hi! i have the same probs as others. just passed nclex exam and planning to work in nz while waiting for retro to be lift up. hope someone can answer my question if i can use my nclex license instead of ielts?? hope i can hear any from you all guys working in nz. im desperately need jobs as of the moment for im jobless for 2 months now..

For what? IELTS is an English exam. NCLEX is a nursing exam. Two entirely different tests. :heartbeat

you can not use your NCLEX in lieu of the IELTS exam. NCLEX has no bearing in NCNZ application . you will still need IELTS 7.0 in all bands and at least one year work experience to be able to register with NCNZ. and if you are a second courser I guess you will have a problem securing registration as of the moment.

From reading your posts in the Canadian forum, I thought you had a job in Alberta and that's where you wanted to be?

Hello there Fiona!!!!!

Mistakenly deleted the quotes from the original text. Im just trying to reply with the poster's question.

And yes, Alberta is the place to be. :heartbeat:heartbeat

hello everyone, i am new in the group, can I ask some question for the Filipino nurses who are already working as RN in New Zealand?

1. How many months stay did you apply in your visa?

2. After the CAP and you were issued a practising certificate and job offer, how much is the fee for converting your visit visa to...

3. Is it work to residence visa?or any type of work visa?

4. How many months of working as an RN before you can apply for permanent residency? Their website says 2 years, but I heard 3 months is enough.

Thank you very much to all especially to the moderators of this wonderful site

1. you could apply for 3-4 months visit visa.

2.after the cap, you apply for a work permit. 200nzd

3. work permit

4. you can immediately apply for PR (file the EOI) after you receive your JOb offer. no need to wait for 3 months

hi lorenzonico,

how about jobs, does iMEETS provide you with the employer once you got your Practising Certificate?(as nurses) thanks

hi retsimnaeb,

thank you very much for the info, and to the moderators having these people who are willing to help by sharing what they know to all

Yes, this is unreasonable because if you have to pay for the competency enrollment then you dont have to go to them and pay the 180,000 pesos. Just do it yourself. Research on how to proceed and save the 180,000 pesos. That makes sense, isnt it?

Try to inquire in Timaru Hospital. I had my 6 wks CAP in that hospital. I only paid NZD750 for the whole course and they offer the CAP for free if you will sign an employment contract for 6 months. That price was 2 yrs ago. I think they are still the cheapest:up: and I had a good clinical exposure.

CZAREXROI..

your in the philippines when you applied for that hospital without any agency or consultancy?

is this agency genuine? how much their placement fees will be?

have you applied in this agency already? if so, what's your current status?

You don't need any agency to work in NZ.All you need to do is to get your assessment from nursing council, then look for facility to have your CAP and apply for a Visa directly to Nz embassy and most important money to pay for all the fees..directly to the concern not to:no: an agency..

oooh!... thank you czar!

there's a NZ consultancy here.. i already paid 23T .. but decided not push thru.. cause the total expense will be 450T .. aw!

another consultancy here said that they don't need the ielts (???), and only asking 160T ..

its a good thing you can directly apply to NZ employers..

:yeah::yeah:
