Texas Service Center Tracker for I-140

World Immigration

Published

Please feel free to post here the date when your I-140 petitions were filed and are handled by this Service Center.

Hopefully, this thread would serve as a tracker or updater on how long I-140 petitions are being approved by this Service Center.

Note: This Service Center is notably much faster than Nebraska Service Center in processing I-140 petitions.

You may post your case status (SRC-xxxx), when it was filed and your Priority Date (PD) if known.

Thank you.

my understanding is your PD is the date I140 filed which would make it 24th November 2006

The I-140 is the first petition that is filed in the Consular Processing procedures. You need to get approval on that first, and then they will send out a bill that needs to be paid. Next step would be getting the DS-230 submitted, this is the one that includes all of your personal specifics and where your dependents are included if married and/or you have children under the age of 21. Then that has to be accepted.

No way to be considered for an interview with US Embassy until the above petitions have actual approval.

Waiting time is also subject to if a complete petition was submitted and nothing left out that was required to be submitted with it. Sometimes the attorney gets asked for more information but they do not inform the nurse about it. More than likely you have signed a document giving them permission to act on your behalf.

Hi Lawrence,

My case filed on May 30 ,2006 but still waiting for approval in texas center. Any idea about this case?

online status : case rceived & Pending ;)

hello, suzanne.

my PD was november 24,2005, approval, april 16,2006, and got a notification from nvc that case completed last october,2006.then, retrogression came.

now that july visa bulletin is current, nvc is asking for a re-submission of ds230. my question is this... why do they need another set od ds230 when it was already approved last year of october? i am afraid it will never end as after submitting a new one, another retrogression might set in again... i am confused of the process. please enlighten me.

also, after i have submitted my new ds230, what do you think is my chance for an interview?

appreciate very much of your efforts and time in clarifying these matters.

if you filed in may 06 and still waiting then there is definately something wrong with your file. I filed in aug 06 and had approval in 11 days although now it is taking a lot longer. What has your lawyer said about this?

quite a few are being asked to resubmit DS230 I would do it without delay. You have a chance like everyone else on getting an interview if there are visas available but if your file is not up to date it will delay you

It is what as it is indicated. Pending. You may want to ask the lawyer handling your case why this is so. It seems you are being left behind. If you will read through this thread there are nurses whose cases were filed much later than yours and they were all either reviewed or approved already.

lawrence, how would y know that the case was reviewed? i checked my online status, and i see some updates but no change in status. it is still pending,. when it is reviewed do u see updated or should it say processed..oh i got my work permit extension in a month,, so it does not take long to extend it..

hi, lawrence,

thanks for that piece of advise.

i have acyually sent my updated form but i'm not sure whether my lawyer will pass it to nvc immediately or he might wait for all of my batchmate to submit and pass altogether to nvc... my lawyer is based in america and i hope he is aware of the time element involved...

anyway, waiting is not so bad, after all. i realized i'm a very patient person when it comes to moments like this one.;)

If the status says, pending... It has not been fully reviewed. A fully reviewed case should have an updated status as well. It could be an outright notice of approval (NOA) or USCIS will send a Request for Further Evidence (RFE) if something is missing then finally a notice of denial (NOD) if they were not satisfied.
