Advice from nurse managers or recruiter in the area

U.S.A. Massachusetts

I am seeking some advice or any information from any nurse managers or recruiters in the Boston area. I am graduating an ASN program in May and I am already enrolled in a RN-BSN program. I just want to know if anyone has any tips or comments about the job market out here. I know it is really tough and no one wants new grads (especially ASN new grads) but is there anything I can do as a new grad to make myself more marketable? I really want a hospital position; I am willing to work all shifts, and I currently work as a tech in a hospital. Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated!!

Have you already inquired with the nurse managers and HR at the hospital you work as a tech? That would be my first stop.

I agree with kateabooo. You should also try to get in touch with nurse managers and clinical leaders where you've had clinicals and leave a copy of your resume for them to contact you. Try to speak with your professors and see what they can do to help you. You just have to network until you find your niche. Also there are some Boston-area hospitals that I know of that will hire ADNs (some are confirmed and the rest are speculation). I will not name them on here out of respect to those institutions but just know that just because it is said that ADNs can't work in the hospital doesn't mean that it is entirely true. Majority of the time they are just trying to make their reputations better than it actually is. You will find that dream hospital position, it is just a matter of time, patience and relentless pavement pounding.
