Advantages of ENA membership?

Published

Before I pay almost 100$/yr thought I would ask you guys if there are any advantages to becoming a ENA member? I've read on another thread that you do get a subscription to a Journal but I'm not sure if that's worth the 100$.

The conferences are a big plus for me, plus discounted CEUs.

But that is just specific for this region...

Well I guess I don't get it, because I am an ER nurse and I have never joined ENA and probably never will if the fee remains high. $96 seems alittle high for me.

I get several free nursing mags anyway, TNCC and stuff like that are paid by my hospital. My states that I am licensed in don't require CEU.

Someone has got to give me a more convicing argument to join then what has been presented.

There's alot to be said for networking. It is the making of a 'professional'.

I go to AACN's annual conference and it is ALWAYS a neat experience. I'm sure ENA's is also.

The educational benefits are worth it. Plus, their journals are both informative and readable, unlike the stuff the ANA trots out...zzzzz.

I haven't worked in ED for a couple of years but I still kept my membership because someday I will go back.
