Curious to know what the hiring trends are in the hospitals outside of the New York City borders, particularly in Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Ulster, Rockland, Nassau and Suffolk counties. Yes I do know that hiring is tough everywhere, but my particular question is whether hospitals within the aforementioned counties are going the way of NYC hospitals in preferring BSN grads over ADN grads.

I know in Monroe county (close to Rochester, NY), most of my classmates were hired with an ADN. Several were also hired in the Syracuse area.
Our school is located in upstate NY so many of the area hospitals hire graduates from the ADN nursing school I attended. Many of the area hospitals nurse recruiters came to our school so many of my classmates secured nursing jobs before they even graduated and took their boards.
I know that's not the case in the city.

They are not up to snuff yet, a little behind in this department. For a dollar an hour more, i am reconsidering, is it worth it. on the fence.
Well, I am asking because if I end up pursuing an ADN I would not mind working in one of these counties. I did not think so, but you just never know these days.
