waste of money in my opinion. We do not hire LVN's in my facility as acute care demands more from them then their education/license provides. When we hire we are looking for RN. Some people get LVN first to be able to work somewhere while in school. But if you can afford it, go straight for RN and start out making more money

I just recently got accepted into the ADN program but I heard some girls say that they rather do the LPN first then their ADN, because most hospitals like when you have gone thru both programs. Is this true? I guess if my ultimate goal is to be an RN, why go through Lpn program.....
