You have two DUIs on your record ? Or just one? You may want to start preparing for the worst case scenario- which is you would be denied licensure but afforded opportunity for a hearing. Then if you may be issued a probationary license with certain stipulations. Prepare for the worst but hope for the best !
Hi start the process 50/50 they will denie you a registered nursing license the first application. That's okay wait until they say you can resubmit another application, at that point resubmit another, just let me tell you I've seen the same conviction with others and this was there process.. But do know that there is light at the end of the tunnel and you WILL get your license when they are ready to give them to you. Good luck

So I was charged with a DUI in October 2014 and convicted of a DUI (0.15) in March of 2015. I was able to finish my nursing school and graduate in January 2015. It's been over a year now and I have been thinking of submitting an application. I know California is the worst when it comes to criminal histories, but if I were to get denied what baggage does it carry? Also I may be okay with a probationary license, as of right now I just want to start working and not forget all my clinical skills and knowledge. HELP!
